No material drop from destroyed ships

o7 CMDRs,
does anyone know if it is a feature of a bug that destroyed ship (CZ) do not drop any materials? Important to say that I am not aligned to any side and do not attack anyone. I just wanted to farm some manufactured materials and thought that CZ would be great for that.

Ok, thanks for clearing that out, it sort of breaks the immersion but I understand that it would probably be realy easy way to farm materials.

Get in there and get bloody, pilot! Loot comes to the violent. Bring something expendable if you're worried about rebuy.

If you dowanna do the heavy lifting, then follow a goodly-sized school of NPCs after picking a side, get some shots in on their targets enough to "count" the target as yours, and collect your not-as-hard-won goodies. Scavenger fishie is a good way to collect without pulling all the killwork yourself.

Keep an eye on your scanner to make sure the CZ doesn't go full red on you and you get picked off, stick with your new NPC buddies, especially something like an Anaconda, and you should make out okay.

Yep, you have to kill the ship yourself.

Yeah, YOU have to destroy the ship for it to drop mats. It's silly, but go figure.

You don't even have to destroy them, just get your hits in enough to get recognized for the kill.

Just 1 hit is enough to get the mats from the ship that gets destroyed later but aware if you are not aligned to any side, both sides are going to act hostile against you.
