No Ship Interiors: - Oops!

I agree. That's what I've never understood about 'Space legs'. It is just going to be a slower way of moving around a planet. There will probably be some new POIs that are basically the same thing as normal but you can only interact with (scan or shoot at) on foot. People are speculating about 'caves' and all sorts of exciting things. No, it will be POI's where you move slower :(

Id say there will be guardian base's like the thargoid ship..however if all we have is freakin comp scanner and guns and no relevent progressive story its just going to be more pew pew, Anything they add in goes to the dogs its great for 1 second then they leave it to fall flat on its face, whats worse is they never say why, what their doing to improve it or show the work or adleast bits of what is being done to fix or carry it on.....every dlc/update has been the powerplay addon over and over again left to rot, die and trown into a gutter filled with vague answers.....

Space legs to me was always about seeing things up close, the inside of ships, station, buildings etc. I wanted to explore on a small scale, to help give the universe more depth, and alter my perspective.
I loved the idea of floating down the deserted corridors of a derelict generation ship, or conda wreck.

As it looks now, a slower srv, it's a bit of a let down.

I'd (originally) assumed Space legs would be something a few years away because the ships have zero G, so you wouldn't just walk around your ship. There would be exciting zero g mechanics, Fdev even made concept art to back that idea up. We would be able to board ships to take them, stuff like that. And we could do it in VR!

None of these things are happening anytime soon. Whatever you think is going to happen that isn't announced; scale back your expectations by a factor of at least 10x

I must have seen that video like 20 times this week alone.

One day I might even watch the 8yo video.
Its been in the OP of 3 threads to my knowledge.

If you want some fun, here's a jpeg that makes it look like you have posted the video.

Nice one. If you want the devs to invite you for a BBQ 🤣
Given the context with which its posted my guess is it has something to do with legs, walking about with legs and exploring with legs, making space coffee in my sidey with legs.

That about sum it up?

No

Interior of ships would need Zero G movement
Planet side would not

Hence the focus on Planet side

This would not rule out Coriolis etc and surface port, but would also rule out more space installations and Mega-ships

The SRV has a modeled hatch (the front opens up to allow entry/exit) so I wonder if going from SRV to feet will use it in lieu of the fade to black

Excellent point on zero-G :)

WRT the SRV I think the same issue with odd scaling of the human avatars limbs would probably justify another transition or canned animation. However remodelling only the SRV would be much less work so maybe :)

I assumed it would be some canned animation, but could be considered a step in the right direction from a a fade to black.

It's a long time since I played GTA5 but I think that had an in-engine animation sequence for getting in & out of cars (ie transitioning from FPS to driving game). In practical terms the player presses the 'get in / get out' button rather than a complex sequence of movements to climb out of the SRV & back in. I agree that would be an improvement over a simple transition, and I suppose it would look odd to other players watching you if you just magically appeared outside your SRV. I've never watched the cockpit of a ship as a player chooses to enter their SRV, I guess the avatar in the seat just vanishes?
