They could still annouce nice things :locations, how we interact with Npc's, New types of missions ....etc
I'm sure they will but it will just be the same old thing dressed up as something new. I so hope I'm wrong!!

I agree. That's what I've never understood about 'Space legs'. It is just going to be a slower way of moving around a planet. There will probably be some new POIs that are basically the same thing as normal but you can only interact with (scan or shoot at) on foot. People are speculating about 'caves' and all sorts of exciting things. No, it will be POI's where you move slower![]()

I think they could really bring something New and cool with locations and npc interaction.I'm sure they will but it will just be the same old thing dressed up as something new. I so hope I'm wrong!!
Space legs to me was always about seeing things up close, the inside of ships, station, buildings etc. I wanted to explore on a small scale, to help give the universe more depth, and alter my perspective.
I loved the idea of floating down the deserted corridors of a derelict generation ship, or conda wreck.
As it looks now, a slower srv, it's a bit of a let down.
I must have seen that video like 20 times this week alone.
One day I might even watch the 8yo video.

Given the context with which its posted my guess is it has something to do with legs, walking about with legs and exploring with legs, making space coffee in my sidey with legs.
That about sum it up?
Two minutes in and he's talking about landing on planets, big game hunting, big task wont be there on day one.
Oh this is exciting.
Yup its a brilliant 8yo development blog.
I wonder where they are now with legs and landing on planets.
I look forward to another eight years of this video being posted.
For heck's sake; you can make an entire game about nothing but stuff happening inside spaceships. Whether FD will do any of it is a whole different question but we should really have moved beyond the question of 'what can happen inside a spaceship' quite literally half a century ago.
They are going for the Android telepresence, I'm calling it!
Well, just wait another two years and you can actually use the term decade.I look forward to another eight years of this video being posted.
Excellent point on zero-G2 Random thoughts
#1
Interior of ships would need Zero G movement
Planet side would not
Hence the focus on Planet side
This would not rule out Coriolis etc and surface port, but would also rule out more space installations and Mega-ships

The SRV has a modeled hatch (the front opens up to allow entry/exit) so I wonder if going from SRV to feet will use it in lieu of the fade to black
Excellent point on zero-G
WRT the SRV I think the same issue with odd scaling of the human avatars limbs would probably justify another transition or canned animation. However remodelling only the SRV would be much less work so maybe![]()
It's a long time since I played GTA5 but I think that had an in-engine animation sequence for getting in & out of cars (ie transitioning from FPS to driving game). In practical terms the player presses the 'get in / get out' button rather than a complex sequence of movements to climb out of the SRV & back in. I agree that would be an improvement over a simple transition, and I suppose it would look odd to other players watching you if you just magically appeared outside your SRV. I've never watched the cockpit of a ship as a player chooses to enter their SRV, I guess the avatar in the seat just vanishes?I assumed it would be some canned animation, but could be considered a step in the right direction from a a fade to black.
