No Single Player offline Mode then?

The difference is not an internet connection.

The difference is not being able to play the game by anyone once the servers go off.

Actually, the difference is between having a "game" and having a "game client".

Without being able to run the game standalone then the program running on your computer is merely a client for the game running upon remote servers and acting as a display. Think of it as an advanced, complex and dedicated version of "Remote Desktop Connection" or "VNCviewer" but with a lot more graphics processing and some CPU offload onto the clients by the servers (to generate NPCs).

What the Kickstarter promised was a "Game", what has been supplied is a "Game Client".

I will not say anymore on the subject , other than to thank FD for what they have created, and hope that people be a bit respectful regardless of the outcome. We do not need another E3 Microsoft / Simcity fiasco doing the rounds, that doesn't do anybody any good.

Couldn't agree more. But you should be blaming the cause, not the reaction.

You said it was obvious that THOUSANDS of people were mad about this.
This thread has posts from both camps, not just people complaining.
It's also not one post per person.

So please show me where you OBVIOUSLY saw thousands of people being mad.

Alright I'll start to compile my list. I'll respond in about 10 hours or so because it's going to be a pretty long list.

Why are you?

I'm here because i am invested in the project and care enough about gaming to actually get a stable internet connection.

I'm here because I am invested in the project and wish for those I persuaded to also become invested based on inaccurate information, be heard. I'm also capable of not calling the argument of those who disagree with me childish, so feel I'm presenting this issue quite well compared to others.

Making it a little easier:

I'm not a legal-expert, but I wonder what conclusions can be made by a person really knowledgable. And yes, if you enter the thread with "I'm a lawyer and blah blah" I'm just going to laugh at you.

saddly though people ignoring that or choosing to.. ;) Surprised people aren't saying 'Oh it's really a conspiracy, see DB and CR got togeather and went, hey can you drop a core feature, I need to see what happens if I don't deliver given I've about 10x's the amount riding on it'.

As people will see from my own posts I'm Angry at the removal of offline, not because I need it, but because to me I see it as being done in a manner that was deciteful and a slap in the face to the community as a whole. As others have mentioned David and Michael should be addressing the community through a video being upfront about it all, voice and video speak a lot better than words, instead apparently we are not worth the time to spend 30 minutes in front of a camera to speak to us..

Add in the joke of the last twitch stream and the lack of answers etc from them, the sheer lack of any real communication this past 2 weeks since the 22nd was announced people are upset and while there are those defending Frontier over it, those people do have a right to be upset they aren't imagining seeing the comments they are stating the CEO of the company made.. or the producer.. that's the kicker here.. the comments came from DAVID and MICHAEL not some lowly developer.. but the Chief Executive Officer and the Producer.

So really the Cheif Executive Officer and Producer should be on twitch for 30 minutes doing some explaining, it can't really hurt them more than they have hurt themselves already.

That being said 22nd can't get here soon enough nor can the 16th.. but I'm still disappointed in the way this has been handled by frontier.

Wondering why you are still here spewing your bile at every one you disagree with. Why are not playing the game instead of being...unhelpful.

After playing the game for the last few hours i figured i'd pop back to the forums and surprise surprise the dummy is still being thrown out of the pram, just make your decision and either ask for a refund and leave or kindly stop ruining the experience for those that still care.

All over offline mode being cancelled quite honestly its pathetic, you couldn't make it up.

The thread has been cleaned up, previously we had people calling fraud and actually asking for the executive producer to resign!

How is that insulting? It could be hurtful, I suppose, but I think the vast majority of this discussion has passed without insult, apart from the odd reference to things being "childish" - like you posted.

Its insulting because it insinuates that the dev's are purposefully trying to steal your money and calling someone a liar is obviously insulting. I beyond caring if i insult a few madhats to be honest.

This thread has nearly 3000 posts at this point. This is not a difficult conclusion to draw.

Yes, but if you look at the post count, many people are posting multiple times. So even if you count three posts a piece (which is definitely under the count for many here), then you are down to less than 1000 individuals.

And that is not even counting the fact that not all posts are from people angry at this decision. There are also those trying to put a little balance in.
