No Single Player offline Mode then?

I love ED as it is, and think it is the BDSSE - just to quote a different company. More and more games are connected to an online part, and it is just as it is. Get over it, and enjoy the game! It is great and lots of fun...)

I'm just wondering if you woul'd still saying the same if multiplayer (or some other major feature you were promised) was scrapped.

I'd just like to say that I feel it was bad timing by FD to announce this information.
I am due to go to the release party next weekend and was really looking forward to seeing the new content and having a great time.
Now? I feel that DB & Co will just be swamped by angry backers.

They had to release the information now.......If they didn't do it before the official launch then people would have been shouting Fraud after the fact..
Before release and the games not officially finished... ..There's no real legal comeback before release of the final product

Apparently my last post wasn't very well received by someone else (noticed I lost one rep), here's a hint: It's my opinion, it has no impact on yours. Simple as that. Besides, it did contribute to the discussion as it was my opinion about this issue after all!

Anyway, back to topic, I recall that old FD game did very successful in offline with 1.4 MB floppy disk drive with 100 billion systems, no? They should able to do that in this current game since it is proven technological method.

A tree is missing and you totally ignore the forest around the empty space. Impressive.

The point you are missing is that said tree was the only suitable home for some of the squirrels, (not meaning to belittle there, just in the context of the 'tree' quote, as previously stated, though not affected myself, those who are have my understanding and empathy).

Wrong. The remaining 14 ships are not cut, just postponed to after the release. I bet there will be one or two to come before d-day. And they annouced 5 more to come too.
Yeh, that's what they said.
Like they said there would be an offline mode. Flip a coin?

Maybe it will be "unacceptable" for the company's accountant and the missing ships will make up the core of the first DLC. *shrug*

This isn't about you or me. It's about selling product and what you can get away with.

I don't have a floppy disk drive, I would demand a refund if this were the case

Obviously they don't want that. Computing power back then was more powerfull but today is very limited so no offline play anymore...

I ran a Neverwinter Nights server/persistent world for over 3 years. There were American soldiers who played on it. Some were stationed in the Middle East. One was on a carrier in the Gulf. They've got internet access.

Internet access on OPS? How times have changed.
