I understand what they are, but a law has not been breached unless someone has been refused a refund they feel they are entitled to.
Luckily Solo Online takes all those problems away if you so choose![]()
Except for when an over-eager workman cuts the wrong wire....That it does, hence why I am not too bothered![]()
OK - reading the newsletter again, and sorry to throw more potential negativity into the ring, but:
So are the boxed copies for KS backers out as well then? (i.e. FDev don't want to do disk manufacture and distribution) Or simply just that updates post-release will be downloads (which is perfectly reasonable, and I'm reading too much into the above quote, given the charged atmosphere tonight).
But it would be offline. And it should be a valid option for those who have no or very bad internet connection. It's not impossible the end result would be something between Elite and Frontier Elite 2 which in my opinion fails to be good at either one in addition to having none of the dynamic and community oriented content which frankly makes the game.
Nah it probably be empty save a piece of paper with a product code on it.No you'd get a box but you will probably find yourself needing to update from the internet by the time you got it because of patches and content. That's exactly why the CD/DVD will eventually go away because the static copy is obsolete the second an update comes out.
Its not and I never said it was. Maybe some of us want FD to break the mold and do things a little differenty huh? Would make a nice change for a developer to put pride into keeping their game word integrity unspoiled and just as exciting for a player starting on day one of release, or five years down the line.

Incorrect. Again its not about refund.
Consider this : I bail you up in a dark alley with a knife and demand you wallet and jewellery. You complain, I return your wallet and jewellery (refund). The law has still been broken, refund or not. So the police would still prosecute.
But it would be offline. And it should be a valid option for those who have no or very bad internet connection.
And of course it would be the fulfillment of the promise. No one promised the same experience offline as the online game.
If someone could tell me how much data on average per hour it would take to play online, and the minimum connection speed required to play the game without any adverse affect on permofance - and these requirements turned out to be trivial - I, personally would feel a lot better about this.
Does anyone know?
For those of us with poor internet connections, and small download limits (that are unavoidable due to geography, or whatever) - this is a big deal.

Or FD pull distribution from Australia which is more likely.

Found the refund page. I have requested one UNLESS There is Clarification From a DEV that we will still have an Offline mode. For those looking for a refund, you must get it "before" release per the terms of the agreement. Seriously Guys, I don't want my money back But Im not paying $300 for an online only game when I was told it had an offline mode. I Drive trucks and I planned on playing it on my Laptop that isnt connected and when it is It cost me a lot for data charges.
