Noob question re: RES sites

Just returned from a long trip to Sag A. Want to try out resource hunting instead of nav point camping.

... What are res sites? I'm hanging out at Belt Clusters but I don't see anyone spawning really. Is that what is meant by res extraction sites? Or am in the wrong area?

Yep, resource extraction sites -- they seem to pop up in systems here and there, with some systems having multiple RES. Great way to get bounties, can't speak too much on mining though.

you will see resource extraction sites appear in your navigation tab when flying through a system ... you will find them in the rings of system bodys (Try looking for extraction an/or refinery systems) .. they are marked clearly.

Usually, you look in the system map and try to locate a metal rich/metal content rich planet. Then you check to see if there are any resource extraction points. After locating them, you drop into them and move to the center, like sit on top of the center and monitor your contact list for wanted ships. Stay around 7KM radius within the center, and always return to it if there are no more ships.

You can reset your instance by logging into the main menu then back in, it will refresh your instance. Be aware that if another player joins your instance, it will also refresh the instance.

A good instance is filled with Conda, Clipper, Dropship, Python. If the first ship/or the first couple of ships you spot are large ships, they will likely continue to spawn large ships in that instance. (Larger ships/ better reward, always scan them with K-warrant since it doubles your profit most of the time. Use energy weapons as much as possible to minimize trips to nearby stations.)

Use your head lights if you are in the dark, watch out for asteroids. Then have fun.

They are in the rings round planets, you need to be within 1000ls of the planet for them to show in the nav panel.
