Not enough credits for rebuy... does this mean its game over?

Been awhile since we had one of these topics. Such a crazy thing to do, still feel kinda sorry for the OP.
You're a better man than I.

The only options are take the free sidewinder, or earn the money through CQC, hey at least you'll be a PvP combat ace by the time you have earnt the money back.

Ugh, I can't imagine doing it through CQC, I'm only rank 25 and getting ~3,000 per match...that's going to be a lot of matches unless 1st prestige multiplies it by 10 or something.

TBH, I had no idea about the insurance not being sufficient for a rebuy, you'd think that you'd go into debt until it was paid off. Never been in that situation before.

Check your Status Screen (The Right Hand Side one) regularly for your Rebuy Cost.
.
Flying a Sidewinder from scratch is fun, you'll enjoy it better the second time round.
.

Sorry for your loss OP, but, yes golden rule an all.

But if you don't fancy a sidey, i have this for sale cheap.

Don't rush to get back into an Anaconda.

It is not an all powerful, all winning endgame ship.

There are none of these.

Ships are built for purpose.

Module choice and engineers allow you a certain degree of freedom to make customisation choices.

Just enjoy. Play around with different ships. Find what works for you to earn money for that comfort zone of rebuys. And then have more fun.

I can sympathise. I've done that so often I now keep a high spec'd Cobra near Trevithic for just such occurrences (though I did once go for quick revenge and lost that too, so I was back in a Freewinder for a while).

You could always wipe your save and start again from scratch (I've wiped my save 7 times). That also wipes your combat rating, but you keep your actual combat skills, giving you a combat advantage against NPCs (at least for a while).

I only wiped my save once. I don't care to do it again. Starting over at nil is an ok experience, just to say you did it. But I don't care for doing the same thing over again to get back to where I am.

But starting over in this case isn't the end. The OP has some money set aside and a Vulture. It would be easy to refit a sidewinder for travel and grab that killing machine. He could be back rolling in the dough today.

The big ships are no fighters, they are far too sluggish. Any smaller ship and the Clipper can always stay behind you and knock you down with the right weapons and endurance. Turrets help but not against 3 of them. You're toast even faster.

Not true. With a little tuning, my cutter can jump into a USS with two anacondas and a T9 and blow them all away without losing shields. Nothing, short of another player (since I suck at pvp) can take her down.

Also, the fed corvette is dang near the best combat ship in the game?

Look at it this way OP - Working your way up from a Sidey is the best, or certainly the most evocative, part of the game. You get to experience that again, but with the skills smash it out the park this time.
-
Don't think about your ship, think about how much fun you're getting from the game. I've never had more fun in ED than when I was bounty hunting in my Freagle or taking my Sidey on a sightseeing trip to Barnard's Loop and the Spirograph Nebula.

If you want something with more muscle, it doesn't take long to earn a Courier and then a Vulture. Both of those are an absolute blast.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the kind words of support and sympathy (except for 1!)

So yes, there's insufficient funds in the loan even to buy back a stripped down conda with no mods. I think the debt was so bad it wouldn't even allow me to click on the "Declare bankruptcy!" button!

I also appreciate the many PM's with people generously offering supplies and stuff to get me back on the road, but I wasn't really asking for any handouts, I'm not like that, just some possible solutions to get out of this mess.

Anyway, looks like I'm back in the Sidewinder for now... although I'm having trouble getting anywhere so far... with less than 1000cr in the account I don't have the jump range to get back to the Vulture and not enough funds to buy a decent fuel tank or scoop even! Looking for some very low level missions to get me started, so I'll let you know how I go!

If all else fails, I might hit you up for those donations ;)

good to see you are taking it like a man :p

as many have said, those early hours, especially now when you are experienced can be among the best experiences you will ever have in E:D, depending on what you like of course

I tend to reset my save quite regularly, I`m back in a cobra now for instance

If you have a ship stored elsewhere, Frontier will at some point be adding the ability to get it shipped to your location (for a fee). They might also be adding the option to allow you to liquidate it remotely, I forget.

If you're really stuck a nicely worded plea to support might get them to liquidate your other ship and wire you the creds. Can't hurt to ask?

getting up to a python and upgrading to a anaconda and you haunt learned that you need to have enough credits to cover cost of rebuy before taking a trip. no sympathy from me!.

second time from start will be easier, that's if you don't make the same mistakes you made in the first run through!
