Not getting combat bonds

Even though I am killing enemy ships and turning them in I still have 0 combat bonds in my codex. Here is a step by step process of what I've been doing
  1. Go to a conflict zone
  2. Once there select a side to fight for in the comms panel
  3. Destroy at least one ship
  4. In the transactions panel it shows that I have a combat bond
  5. I travel to a station (I've tried ones in the system and outside of the system)
  6. I sell my combat bonds at a station
  7. I log out then log back in to check my codex, there are 0 combat bonds
I've tried this multiple times in different systems with the same result. I also have a friend trying the same thing and getting the same result. We are both playing Odyssey and have both turned in multiple combat bonds without our codex being updated. I've watched a bunch of videos about combat bonds but I can't find anything that solves my problem. Does anyone know why I'm not getting combat bonds?

I got the same issue, reported but still bugged. Some news about some fix? I cannot continue engeneer discovery

Chances for the issue to be addressed are slim at the moment. Apparently the priority of FDev is to fix their catastrophic alpha release of Odyssey. I will take another look at ED at the end of the year and hope for the best.
