Not happy

Ya all in here hammering on the guy only as long as it happens to you as well. Then you probably notice that a loan minimum of 200k serves nothing.

Who says it hasn't happened? See that 1 insurance claim? It was indeed in an Asp, and it's over the 200,000cr loan amount. But there's this thing called keeping a rainy day fund in case you get rammed by a Cobra in a head on collision that instantly destroys your ship from 100% shields and 100% hull. People should try it instead of being greedy, spending every last credit and then posting ragequit threads after they traded everything they own for a Sidewinder.

The 200k loan is there as a buffer for new players, players that should know better are not covered and probably never will be.
Anyone in an Asp is not a new player and by default should know better

Or in a reverse pun kinda way...it isn't rocket science

Neither that amount nor the 200k insurance limit is explained anywhere in the game.
But oc it won't happen to you guys, you are all so smart and uber Elite. Sometimes a few words of sympathy can be of help, but those neocon and social darwinism attitudes in this forum are just disgusting.

Not hammering anyone.

Other than that, it won't happen to me...you wanna bet ?

I never fly without insurance. Ever. It's better to sell your current ship and downgrade for a bit, or better yet go down from an A type FSD to a B type (since there's no 10% loss on module resell), for a bit of extra cash to cover insurance then to risk everything on a single trip.

The OP made the worst possible decision you can make in this game, and he paid for it.

Yeah, just don't fly without insurance. You might get away with it a hundred times, but all it takes is one mistake/error/accident and you lose it all.

They should remove the loan completely. That way everyone learns the lesson much sooner rather than ignoring what it actually says on the rebuy screen until they lose something expensive.

Either that, which would possibly be harsh on newbies, or give the 200k to those that have no choice but to take the free Sidey...would seem to kill all, but the most whiney, complaints

Guys, if you want threads on the subject to stop, the bogus insurance mechanics need to change. FD should implement a real insurance system like EVE has. Let us buy A to X level insurance for the ships and possibly have a warning message which has to be acknowledged before undocking in an uninsured ship. It's really not rocket science.
And fix the collision bugs already.
Last week I had to rebuy a ship because I exploded in station, bumping into to tower at the landing pad, with full shields, going 15 meters per second.
As long as the Game is still in Alpha or Beta, at least make sure the players get fast reimbursement for losses caused by bugs.

Me too

While in a seeking good instance i got near the lakon 9 to scan it and got rammed and my 15Mil+ asp(with upgrades) got destroyed. Basically I didn't have enough to cover my losses and have to go back to the sidewinder. Seriously there should be an option to have a more aggressive percentage off earnings to pay off bigger loans etc
I lost 41 million plus type 7 last night I hit the boost in a station :(
