Now That We Have The Controllers Back, Name The Voices

100% agree. Not entirely sure why, but she has got a slightly seductive voice.

Although I'm stunned at how few people are claiming that the odds of anyone continuing to have their Earth accent 1000 years into the future is breaking their immersion. Chaucer is hardly English and that was relatively recent. I severely doubt Oop North t'lass still sounds like that in 3303.

Heh heh. I think Ms Starcon probably has quite a few fans :D

Interestingly, The Expanse universe (books and television series) suggests that the "Belters" (workers in the asteroid belt) will have developed an entirely new patois dialect (culled from many different languages) within only two hundred years of living away from Earth. One of the cleverest aspects of this is that Lang Belta includes a lot of signing and hand gestures, which originated because emotions and meaning could not be discerned while working constantly in spacesuits.

I also miss Angry Jock (formerly at Obsidian Orbital) who seems to have disappeared, but he was so aggressive towards incoming pilots they obviousy sacked him. "Next time, learn to fly your ship" was one of his funnier comments.
I miss him too!

The Northern Lass: She sounds like she'll give you a cuppa and a couple of Bourbons!

Surely northerners would have been removed from the gene pool by C34th!
