NPC crew member reporting insane wages

Raise a ticket with FD asking them to check that she hasn't been pinching pennies off you. Might just be a display bug.

Has happened to me. Terminated crew member, correct amount earned displayed.

Normally, they dump *me*, for not earning enough... something about my enjoying flying around space too much, and not grinding. :(

I think it'd be awesome if you came back from holiday and your NPC is there saying:

"Well, I made 85M while you were gone. I thought I'd have great opportunities flying with you, but it turns out you're just another unmotivated loser. Thanks, but I'm flying my own ship now."

Just to rub it in it's now an NPC you see regularly flying more expensive ships than you.

:D

Alternatively, I think it would be cool if you dismissed an NPC you treated very well - raised them from Harmless to Elite and they now have 108 million credits - that you could have a good rep with them and run across them in your travels. Obviously, that will have to wait until we have more fleshed out NPC roles/reputations, if that day ever comes.

On the flip side, I'd love to see all the "interns" burned by other commanders gang up and come after them. "We're taking our pay out of your hide!"

Until then, hire and fire, or retain... up to you.

I'm keeping mine until they're taken from me... well, two of them anyway. Heck, they each have more credits than my three RL friends who occasionally play. Regardless, as they keep making money so do I. There's enough to go around. A good captain rewards his crew! ;)

I had a similar thing, which led to me firing my long-term SLF pilot.

She started off Harmless, had ranked-up to Dangerous and was taking, IIRC, ~10% of my profits.
According to her bio' she'd earned Cr170m.

I'm sitting on two Dangerous SLF pilots, each earning 8% profits, for 16% total profit losses. They've each earned around 190 million which means together they've taken 380 million of profit. I really should fire my second pilot, but the point was to be able to have an "active" pilot that I could risk losing and still have my first NPC pilot kept safe. At the time they each took me around 12 hours of RES combat to train from Harmless to Dangerous so I wanted to preserve my total 24 hour "investment" in the training but if I realized how much profit they would have taken since I originally hired them I would have never bothered training the second SLF pilot. Essentially with the profit they've taken it's cost me something like 15 million/hr averaged out over those 24 hours of training which means they've been extremely expensive relative to the time it would have taken me to simply re-train a new pilot. I actually rarely use the SLFs at this point but the ability to have one NPC SLF pilot and another multicrew CMDR SLF pilot at the same time had been just enough motivation to keep them on the payroll, although if I lose the second pilot I'm not planning on training a replacement.

It would be nice if you went into partnership with them and when you weren't using their services they could earn credits at a rate tied to their level. Then when you hooked up again you would get a percentage of their profits equal to your rank.

A bit like Lydia and her magic shop in Skyrim.

I miss Lydia. I married her once. Mmmmm home cooked meals.

Lydia was nice but I suspect she had a drink problem. If you ever had to do something with another follower and left her by herself, the next time you caught up with her in Whiterun you'd find her sitting down drinking. Didn't seem that great at baby sitting the scary orphan girl (try giving her a dagger as a present)

I have been flying in my Python for a week now and checked how much my AI crew has siphoned off me just sitting back at my home system - over 4 mil :O

Something's definitely wrong. I logged in today and now it shows that she has only earned 90K Cr. 85M to 90K is much more to my liking but it's a bug that I can't even figure out how to report.

And the difference between an Elite and an Expert - Crew is very very low.

No, it's not...
Time to kill is a lot faster with an Elite NPC.
I currently have an Elite and a Master crewmember, the difference is night and day.

Only annoying thing is that once the NPC is Elite, their comments become really condescending.
Oh and inaccurate: "This is an experienced enemy commander, we'll have to fight smart here" ..whilst firing on a master Eagle, melting away in an instant.
