NPCS using mods?

Took an assasination mission against a Terrorist Leader and could'nt help but notice he was 100% using target lock breaker on me.

Was this always a thing?

(not complaining - was a nice fight)

Patch notes today said they've included engineered ships to the assasination missions. Guess that's what you got.

NPCs of Master or above could have some engineering since 2.1, but that did not include weapons.

PS: Why is this in PvP sub btw?

I've been doing those wing assassination missions solo and I will say some of them are a challenge with the new engineered NPCs. Some NPC's still suffer from the spam SCB's with no heat sink and can still fight like they are not having heat issues I'm afraid though.

If the SCB part is true, record it and bug report it! They are not supposed to do that!

Nothing new about NPC's and spam SCB's, I've seen master rank apparently using them w/ little adverse effect.

It's OK, they still die, though they can be a handful in numbers.

According to SJA, who has actually programmed them, they should not fry themselves indefinitely. They should go to maximum 200% heat and pop a heatsink.
Again, record this behaviour and bug report it.

Confirmed. They really do use nicely engineered ships.

Some of them even seem to be ok with microtransactions as a means of helping Frontier keep the game alive, by the look of the pretty weapon colors they have. :)

Engineered NPCs will be great for those of us who want a bit more challenge in our PVE. Hopefully this will be extended and we get engineered NPCs in HAZRES areas - for an increased bounty of course.

If you get hit by NPC plasma accelerators, you're baaaad. :)

<tongue in cheek, but seriously, strafe rolling makes you almost unhittable by standard PAs>

On similar lines, I was pleased to see various NPC targets have paint jobs now, and that I was interdicted by an NPC Chieftain (I was flying my own chieftain, and I was surprised how good the NPC was). I guess there are now NPC Type 10s too, anyone seen one?
