Hardware & Technical Nvidia 347.09 thread

Well I took the plunge and tested these drivers but I get 'Game cannot be optimised'.

Maybe it's because the driver is Beta at the moment but if not I wonder if only certain GPUs are optimised. :(

Not that I'm getting poor performance already, the game's running pretty smooth but every little bit helps.

The best part about these drivers is the fact that Nvidia finally fixed the full range color bug in all of their older drivers. You are now able to force full range 0 to 255 color mode In the driver panel. There is also some audio improvements when outputting bitstream over HDMI for 7.1 home theater. When you install these new beta drivers make sure to calibrate the color on your display.

New nVidia driver for ED is out (WHQL 347.09)

Just a quick heads up. New driver from nVidia - in official channel, not a beta now - that supposedly has some tweaks to benefit Elite. I wonder if we will see any performance differences...

I have lil faith in so called performance improvements from nVidia, I have never seen my FPS double due to driver, but I have seen it half ;)

At least it feels good to see they list your games. It gives me a tiny performance increase in how fast to log into them. ;)

There's a warning from FD in the VR forum not to install this driver when using an Oculus Rift with Elite as there is some sort of bug associated with it in this case.

The improvements are usually limited to the newest chipsets as the figure out how to optimise for them (older cards have already been optimised for). They don't usually mention that bit though.

Game works fine for me with the last drivers. I admit that a GTX780 Ti paired with an i7 4770 doesn't need a speed increase. Obviously for peeps with lesser rigs that couple

of FPS increase is always appreciated.

I was using the beta version of this driver and I was getting regular reboots caused by bluescreens.
After uninstalling it, I no longer receive this problem.

I doubt anything much has changed since beta to WHQL, so I'm going to avoid this driver.

Hmm, not sure I need this... :D Already have a solid 60FPS, but perhaps a bit less stuttering when closing in on the stations when in SC. *fingers crossed*

New Nvidia GPU drivers w. ED-support

Just a heads-up that Nvidia released v. 347.09 today.

The drivers are said to give "Best gaming experience for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and Elite: Dangerous"

Merry Christmas! :)

Thanks for the info and Merry Christmas to you. :)

They're quick with their betas, they only released a set last week and now they're WHQL certified, so a sweet christmas present.

Now, let's hope the optimisation feature works for Elite: Dangerous, the beta version didn't work for me, although that seems to be a feature of Geforce Experience and not the driver itself so maybe it will be updated more regularly anyway.

*Update* : Nope, it still says 'Game Cannot Be Optmised' even though my rig meets the requirements. Oh well, maybe it will work with a future update.
