We paid for a ticket and are still waiting for the second half
In a sense that's true but it doesn't paint the full picture and is somewhat misleading. Frontier delivered on their Kickstarter base promises as can be reasonably expected. The other things were always stated to be for later development and/or paid expansions. Other things that fell by the wayside after release, specifically Mac support, were also reasonable financial decisions to protect the viability of Frontier & Elite. Apple support was dropped due to Apple's decisions to make it prohibitively expensive to continue support vs the demand, similar to what happened to the Amiga back in the day with FFE, the tech got outdated and the market just wasn't big enough to make it work - that wasn't David Braben's fault either, that was Commodore, and a much bigger mistake. Gaming has always been bottom on the list of importance to Apple, I don't know why, but apart from some ports and a standout game like Marathon once in a blue moon, since forever and still to this day
no-one is buying a Mac for the primary purpose to game - speaking as someone who has been a professional Mac user since 1995, who also owns multiple Macs and compsoing this reply on a Mac, and initially wanted to play Elite Dangerous on a Mac. The fact is that it wasn't Frontier that didn't care, Apple didn't, and still doesn't.
