But titles/thumbnails are bad, or something

I do not know man, up to OA to judge obviously. All I can tell you is that in my particular case that clickbait is not working very well.

I guess the same applies to anything. There's always going to be something which isn't someone else's 'cup of tea' and hey, there'll be others who don't even like tea lol. Sticking with that analogy, in that sense, I don't mind what it looks like as long as it tastes like tea. (so like: if it's Elite, then I'll check it out sort-of-thing)

So many content creators have stopped recently and I really hope Frontier can pull them back again. Supporting the content creators is probably now, more important than ever. Let's keep the hope alive for the future and hopefully Frontier will give them and us, some news for us to all appreciate and have some positive news or actual content to talk about again soon 🤞

Do they?
They finished the first half of FY2022 (June-November) at a 1.3 millions pounds loss.
I'm really curious how the full statement for the entire FY2022 will look - i do hope they get back on the positive side of the cash balance and they also enjoy successful launches for both Warhammer and F1 Manager... since that means DBOBE might redirect some of the funding to Elite (yea, i know wishful thinking 😇 )
Yes they do, compared to their past they get more money then ever. But it is clear that most of revenue goes to new projects and all the other things. But they cut so much that elite is threatens like the black sheep. I hope for you guys that they will bring good things up, but the doom is strong at this trying time…🥚 oh an egg🫠

Been playing for as long as you, although not as many hours! (wozers). Obsidian back then was a very different youtuber, he seemed more interested in actually telling us mostly about his exploits in game, tutorials etc with reasonable descriptions such as "Mining Guide & Tutorial", "The Anaconda in Virtual Reality" or "Witch Head" etc.

Nowadays I suspect he probably barely plays enough to use images as backdrop (not necessarily a bad thing, after the most likely hundreds if not thousands of hours he must have played there is not even need for an excuse to stop playing a game, any game, so props!), nevertheless he keeps doing videos about Elite. Although some of them have now somewhat different descriptions... such as "End of the Road?", "Its Days Are Numbered?" or "Elite Dangerous a Sinking Ship?".

There was a time where OA just made videos as he played the game to tell us his views and experiences in it etc. Nowadays it is a pity it seems he needs to resort to click bait to get some of his videos through. It is clear he is not interested in Elite as he was years ago and that is ok. If he wants to continue making Elite videos despite all that, hey, knock yourself out. I may be in the minority but I think in my case I personally would probably start watching some of his videos again (not just about Elite) if he either stopped the disappointing click baiting or perhaps when he decides stopping making videos about a game where he clearly has lost interest in. But hey, that is just me, and click bait sells so I hope it works well for him.
We might need to coin a new phrase to describe his disciples: Obsidian Knights? No, too cool. Obsidian White Knights? Cool as well as a nice oxymoron. Ant Knights? Knight Ants? Angry Antz?

:D S

Bang on here. He's pandering to his current audience. Just look at the comment section to see that. Hence someone like me, who actually still likes Elite even with its flaws, finds his current video output impossible to watch now.

It’s a shame, that people start arguing that he needs clickbait’s, guys this dude didn’t need elite to life, and this is the normal way, when you come outside and see how it should be done. I totally disagree in anyway.

Obsidian ant and although down 2 Earth are smart enough to search new grounds because they see the problem clear. I mean I followed OA a long time and you can see his opinion is changing from believer to realistic guy. That the point. Just because he is now speaking the truth, didn’t mean he need catchy phrases etc. And by the way I have all content creators from elite deleted from my Abo list.

in hope that this community come back to life and show again their smart thoughts. For the moment honestly, here a some hardcore believers and dreamers. Sorry I don’t would like to troll you all, but the truth and facts are undeniable and when someone has the guts to tell it open and directly, there is no room to discredit this guys. Remember he or any other content creator works as an louder voice, perhaps (and I really doubt it) fdev awakes these days and reconsider the direction. For me I don’t care, but I hope it for the rest of the community.

Some people are not going to like the follow up.
If nms would be a real mmo it would have replaced ed on my pc.
But who knows what the future will bring, the devs released some great updates for nms and maybe one day it will become the mmo I would like it to be.

So I was going through my driver settings, and I turned on Threaded Optimization, which I had off for some reason, and I rebooted, and I also turned off game mode in Windows, and my framerate has made another bump. I also turned down two settings from Ultra to High, but that didn't do as much across several runs as the reboot after the driver change.

I really gotta say I blame the framerate for like 60%-70% of the discontent. The expansion gets more fun with every additional fps.

I thought this was the Steam thread

I don't understand the clickbait thing, i thought the video title was sugestive enough to make yourself a good idea about what might contain, doom... As an example, for me a clickbait was the "buy odyssey" as a fully developed game, trailer and all, button.
