Like your optimism but that might be just what it is optimism. I am not really talking about the fact that VR will be supported but rather the statement about the exploding crowd of VR gamers I think that will be the real mystery is if people invest in this or just stick with their console. It is a pretty big jump when you add it all up, the device, the computer, supporting games designed for it all of those things have to happen in a big way for this to be truly successful.
Im pretty sure VR will be a success. And i mean in a major major way. But sure it will definitely not go mainstream in 16-17, that will come later in later versions.
VR is in many way the final platform. Once it gets good enough, you can throw away alot of older gear and technologies for good. But that is still 5-10 years out id say.
In 2016-2019 VR will litterary eat up the enthusiast and gamer crowd. Even the "gaming on the couch with friends" crowd will follow soon after. And gradually together with mobile devices eat further and further into the mainstream segment. I just cant see any reason it wont.
