Odyssey Premium Weapon and Suit stock

Greetings Commanders,

We have seen some discussion regarding where to buy premium weapons and suits in Elite Dangerous: Odyssey and we wanted to clarify this further.

Premium weapons and suits are the truly valuable items with different stats that Pioneer Supplies stores like to bring out for the most enthusiastic clients. What that means is that these premium items are unique exclusives and once purchased, they are gone. This means one Commander can buy them and then that item is no longer for sale. If you see someone suggest they got a certain premium weapon from store X they are the ONLY person to have purchased it. That item will not be available in that store should you go and investigate yourselves.

So if you see a premium weapon or suit, make sure to grab it quick before someone else snaps it up! In future we may increase the stock availability of premium items but right now these are unique exclusive items.

DO these become available in the Colonia region too, or is this only a thing which happens in the Bubble?

Also: IMO this is an odd and silly concept - but I can see why FDEV added it; it's basically a "nudge" to encourage more players to get out of their ships and into concourses. Cynical but effective. ;)

Are these the level 2 suits/weapons I have seen (and purchased?) .. or something even more special?

I have a G2 suit and a couple of G2 weapons from Colonia stores. Left another G2 weapon in the shop as it wasn't a type I was interested in.

However, with Colonia having a slightly higher average and a much higher minimum player density than the bubble ... they've probably all gone by now. I haven't seen any for a few days.

Yeah I suspected if any were going to be available in the Colonia region - they'd have been snapped up as soon as.

Please don't flood the stores with these items, to chase them and find them is the fun part of it, credits are now so easy to get that it kind of made it redundant.

Exactly. In fact, because credits are so easy to make in Horizons, I've been playing Odyssey as a pauper. I don't play it for the payouts (however, it bugs me to get 100k fines for failed missions). It's the survival way of playing Elite, and if there are some surprise golden eggs you accidentally encounter like upgraded weapons, that's just awesome.

Does new premium gear ever go on sale, randomly or otherwise? Or are the items that are available now one and done? I'm thinking of a new player coming in weeks/months from now and all premium items have already been vacuumed up by the existing playerbase.

I suspect they're resupplied over time, but like Lysan said, hopefully it won't be any flooding. It should just slowly trickle into the game.

I have been scooping these up like crazy. Have multiple g3 of each suit with different modules added. My best two are a g3 Maverick with night vision and decreased tool power usage, and a g3 Artemis with night vision.

This is also where Apex really shines. Use it to go from station to station. Low traffic systems work best.

So we have to check every store in the bubble or are they only available at the edge of the bubble? Because I found a few on small stations at the edge of the bubble.
