Odyssey System Requirements on May 19th

It’s actually a misunderstanding regarding resolution, 1080p will give you more FPS to a point, however the sweet spot could be 2k and you could get 40-60 FPS if your cpu is up to it, in EDO I got around 60 FPS in 2k with an old 1080 overclocked.
The 1060 is optimised for 1080p. It doesn't really have the grunt for 1440p+ at 60Hz anyway, or the vRAM for that matter. This is especially true now - it's a 5 year old card.

R9-3900X 12 Core/24Thread at 4.0Ghz.
32GB RAM DDR4-3600
MSI MPG-X570 Gaming Plus
AMD RX-5700XT
ED Installed on MB's Nvme Gen4 x4 M.2 (Fast R/W)

I have no problems running Odyssey at 4K (3840x2160) set to ultra and averaging 100 to 140 FPS.

Bring it on.

Have a R7-3700x, 32GB DDR4-3200, x370 Asus Hero, RX 5700 XT and a Gen3 NVMe. I was getting under 60fps at some settlements at 1080p.

Will be upgrading my PC today to a R9-5950, x570 Tomahawk and a 1TB 980 Pro. GPUs are to hard to find these days, not paying scalpers.

WOW. So much horse power.
I must be blessed, my old win7 machine at 1920/1080 gets 60 fps on high settings with the very rare ctd.
Horizons tho, dinna do the alpha.

Someone at FDev needs to learn more about PEGI 101!

Also... release date March 27th?
This reminds me of when us on this forum before the kickstarter, we'd laugh at Play.Com because they'd have Elite IV listed for sale (I forget the exact price, but it was at about £30) and they even had a release date about two years away (at that time). We could not get our heads around how they could get away with listing a product that didn't exist .... yet somehow they even had box art.

I mean, everything about it was wrong (I'm not just saying that because here we are 10 years later, we knew at the time it was not factually correct), but it didn't stop them listing it.

Horizons PC Specs

OS: Windows 7/8/10 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i7-3770K Quad Core CPU or better / AMD FX 4350 Quad Core CPU or better
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: Nvidia GTX 770 / AMD Radeon R9 280X

Odyssey PC Specs

OS: Windows 10 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i5-8600 CPU or better / AMD Ryzen 5 2600 or Better
Memory: 12 GB RAM
Graphics: Nvidia GTX 1060 (6GB)/ AMD RX 580 (8GB)

A massive increase on the system requirements. I don't know if the game will actually run, and honestly I think the performance of the Alpha is very much most likely how it is.

As Long as we can have the option to refund, then I guess I wont be so bad.

But this is uncontrollably depressing news.

Minimum spec for Odyssey is Win 7

My laptop will run Odyssey quite ok, but those requirements are higher than for Red Dead Redemption 2.
So I'm expecting graphics, lightning and weather effects like in RDR2 ;) /S

I wouldnt go that far(!), but it is disappointing given their previous comments about how the specifications wouldnt change.
