Odyssey VR specific bug reports - please contribute!

Voted! For me it's when l try to cash in a care package. Just hangs with no way of deselection or reverting back to previous screen = relog to play again.. suffice to say I've now got alot of care packages I've not opened

In my case, and others with high Power ranks that have reported it, the packages panel hangs every time. This also happens in flat mode. It's not directly related to the specific rank but to the number of pending packages that have accumulated. Eventually, there are more packages than the client can handle so it all locks up when you enter the window.

I noticed this issue coming in slowly as I was progressing and receiving packages. The panel would hesitate for a second or two, but eventually open. Until it didn't, and now it locks up the panel. The client does not hang, however. You can look left and right, activate other panels like Codex and those work fine. You can't Esc to exit so it needs to be killed with the task manager.

That’s a different issue to the VR panels one just reported and not VR-specific - you’ll be wanting to add to / vote for this report instead:
👍

Oh yeah, I started seeing this. It was more prominent before when I disabled "terrain checkerboard". After a few fix, even with it disabled, I couldn't see the issue, until now. I'm running a Quest 3, though I'm not sure how much of a difference that makes.

I’ll try a few other planets, see if the issue crops up for me 👍

Seen a fair bit of that the last few days (Valve Index).

Becomes quite conspicuous when you are orbiting on the dark side of a planet, and the offending terrain patches pop really bright (possibly briefly unshaded?) in the periphery.

Update: Thanks to low frame rate I just got myself some bits o' culled planet making it well into the central view, by turning my head rapidly, and it actually looked like the bright stuff I saw was not terrain patches rendered bright, but the skybox background showing the nebula I'm in at the moment, so fully culled, I guess. :7

I’ve made 5 planetary landings today, trying to mix up the types (rocky, icy, atmospheric), light side/dark side, and I couldn’t see any terrain culling. Flying my Cobra Mk3 and having a good look around while descending.

The only graphical anomalies I could see were the shadow bugs when approaching near the terminator.

Quest 3 via AirLink, RTX 4070ti (driver version 572.47), stand-alone launcher.

I've been seeing it in my Q3 a fair bit.

Also, has anybody been noticing issues with the left and right eye images being different brightness's? It can be especially noticeable when near a star or near the terminator on a planet or moon I find. I've not had a chance to look back through the thread yet but will do later.

First post has all past & present issues - the one you’re describing is this long-standing report:
👍

I’ve just caught a glimpse of a black flicker on the edge of my view during a planetary descent - so I quickly pressed my Quest 3 right onto my face…and there’s loadsa black triangles lurking in that normally-unseen periphery!

I’ll be adding my confirmations to the report later on 👍

Yep, exactly, it's a triangle from ground rendering that appears at the edges. Not sure if turning checkerboard on or off makes a difference now.

It gets me every time lol. I jump thinking it's a Thargoid about to pull me. I guess that mental scar won't heal easily. :)

Not seen this black triangles thing in the periphery whilst planetarily landing

Pimax CL
I can’t see them normally due to the HMD’s facial gasket - they’re right on the edge of the displays. It’s much more visible on the monitor screen.
