Odyssey VR specific bug reports - please contribute!

Is anyone not seeing the laser fire on the scarab SRV now? I can hear and see where it hits the terrain but the shot itself is not visible.

OMG.. lol. Could it be? Now the voting stage... then the queue for development.

I truly hope we can get these votes asap. The Comms panel is pretty borked at the moment so there's a good chance Devs will be in there anyway. This Comms issue of ours is dead easy to fix. One look and they'll see the field being initialized when it shouldn't be. The good code is in up to Update 7. Copy/paste! ;-)

New issue report: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/56183 - Broken planets in VR - which looks pretty bad! 😅

First thing I’d be doing is checking my video drivers and deleting GPUworktable.xml - anyone else seeing broken planets?

Edit: nvm, just seen the thread by Ashnak:

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/puzzled-planets-and-a-not-so-secret-underground-base.611376/
Yes - too many ( I got three) reports to make unique, but also not reproducible, even for me. Some days it happens, other days not.

Issue report https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/56183 has reached the voting stage but it looks like it’s a driver issue which can be solved as detailed here:

They need to open a support ticket, not a bug report. Aside from informing they're 'sad', there are no reproducible steps that could be used to assist.

For the record, the Quest 2 must be turned on, connected to the PC (ie: Link), and be worn before the mapped joystick inputs are read. Do this before launching ED.

https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/50402 is closed, but the issue still persist. Can we reopen that one?
Oh for fu……….thanks for noticing this 😅

We (the VR players) now have to go through the whole rigmarole again of getting an issue Confirmed - I’m going to add mine to these already-existing reports:

https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/54535 - Severe lighting flickering problem in VR - 6x Confirms
https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/56742 - Texture or shadow flicker still persists in VR - 2x Confirms

It’s not the first time FDev have done something like this - do they not read the comments on the Issue Reports?
🤬
Edit: I suggest we all confirm #54535 - it has a better description and a video link. New confirmations now bring it up to 6x 👍

Added mine, appears to be 10 Unique confirmations now.
Also added to the other one, who knows with FDev, the more the merrier.
I was so hoping that we would be getting a fix for that in 14.02, guess not

Whilst I feel kind of rude adding a confirmation, I think the odd nudge every now and then is justified ;)

:D Was just looking up progress on my issue when i found this forum. When I made this on steam discussion and on the issue tracker I wasn't sure if anyone would even read it. That flat screen is just so damn disappointing, cheers for those who added to it. This might be my first post on the forums after playing since the beta and nearly exclusively in VR the whole time. I do hope we get some real on foot VR one day.

Thanks for your contribution, and thank you to everyone who added to the report - it is now at the voting stage.

Seeing as the “fixed” issue report freed up a vote for me, it has now been slapped on this one 👍

And lo, the days of milk and honey and endless waiting for Confirmation came to an end, and there was much wailing and mashing of the Expired button.

Looks like any unconfirmed issues up until August 2022 have recently been slapped away :(

Edit: halfway through August now - the cull continues!
Edit2: late August now - tempus fugit!
Edit3: October now

Back to trying to scrounge up Confirmations within a limited timeframe, folks! Yay…

New issue report:

https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/57678 - Game freeze after destroying 2nd Thargoid Heart - 0/10

Any VR xeno hunters able to confirm this? Or is it something that is also happening with the flatscreen game?

My ship isn’t kitted out to test this one, so any info would be appreciated 👍
I have been doing a ton of thargoid combat in VR, and I haven't run into this problem. I've done it at surface sites, in signal sources, during hyperdictions, and in AX conflict zones, and I've never had a problem with crashing, freezing, or frame rate drops after taking out thargoid hearts. According to Inara, I have ~100 kills of various interceptor types.

Maybe it's an issue unique to that person's setup?

With the amount of Thargoid combat going on at the moment I would’ve expected to see something about it on the forums/elsewhere or even duplicate issue reports - but I suspect this is as you say, the VR player is suffering from an unfortunate set of circumstances.
