Well, I went to see Todd at Wolf 359, coughed up the 100k in bounties, changed one of my lasers to a 2f mc and and scrolled through the available mods and selected increased ammo, great, what the is cost? 2 mechanical scrap, available in space at unidentified signals, one vanadium, available on metal rich worlds on mountains that have black stripes on them and one electrochemical array found as debris from military ships in space or given as payments by certain groups for completing missions. OK, now I am in my FAS, which until yesterday was the king of the battle field and today is a overgrown sidey that has to turn tail after engaging three lesser NPC ships, with a shot out hull and malfunctioning modules. But I digress, back to the task at hand.
Now I have to re-equip my ship, get a vehicle hangar, buy an srv and go mining on a planet surface, I never mined, I don't care to do it, now I am FORCED to do it because vanadium is not sold anywhere. Then I have to go out in space and hunt through signals, after installing a cargo bay in my once-proud FAS, scoop up debris or deal with limpets to collect stuff and bring it all back to Todd, who must be laughing his butt off having everyone go on snipe hunts trying to gather all this stuff to pay for the mod. Because if you want to survive in the Brave New World, you better evolve.
Now for the best part, after gathering all the required stuff, you come back and dump it at Todd's place and he says, "Well, you now that there is chance that you won't get the desired results." "And by the way, these initial mods, they really don't do much, but as we go along in our relationship, I will give you, bit by bit, great stuff, you only have to spend hours and hours to get it all, but you know, you really don't need to do anything else in your life, right?"
I have combined assets of $400 million CR's, including A-class FAS and and A-class Python, I am over halfway to combat elite from deadly, broker in trading and rear admiral, so I have put in some time in the game, so I was looking to an improvement through Horizons, but now, they slip in another grind?
As they say in old Mexico, "Adios, muchachos, vamonos!" I won't be back until the GAME is FUN to PLAY, after all it is supposed to be entertainment.
