OK, let's settle this. What is THE best paintjob?

Yeah, full ack. Lakon also has a black-metallic paintjob for several ships (including the AspX iirc) that WOULD be really awesome -- if it didn't have a big fat LAKON written all over it in 10 metre tall letters. Why on Earth do they do that. To my knowledge this has zero precedent in any real-world vehicle market, not cars, not airplanes, not luxury yachts.

I always liked this one. I think more competitions like this would be a good idea.
Yeah, the Medusa paint job is really creative. Makes you wonder what other cool stuff the community would come up with if given the chance. For example, think of the cool missions that people would script out.

Anyway, I have an old screenshot of this Cobra MkIII paint job, but I can't remember what it's called. I wouldn't say it's "the best" but thought some people might like to see it.

According to this page on the Elite Dangerous Star Map website, it's a PC Gamer paintjob (scroll down, you'll see it)

Also, I just learned the EDSM site keeps screenshots of a lot of the paintjobs

Best paintjob depends on the ship, but if I had to pick one and only one, it's Precision Yellow. Especially on Phantom--it accentuates the angular, almost Guardian-like, features very nicely and makes the ship look very fast, dynamic. Not the best screenshot, but good enough:

Other options in the Precision family look good, too.

Eagle Jungle Camo was a rare paint that actually made a ship look less like a bar of soap and actually militaristic. With drop tanks from a ship kit and Enforcers it was essentially a Hawker Typhoon in space.

And I'm keeping a close eye on those who say 'racing' too squints eyes.

And oh yes FAS Crossfire. Because.

I think one of the best paintjobs was a member of canon (Xbox I believe ) who had a dragon either on cutter on clipper . I think it was won in a raffle where they could design a paintjob . I would have paid a lot of money to get that .

I normally prefer the plainer colours like Midnight Black, but also like the overlay colours (sometimes known in the paint trade as 'flip'flop') like Azure and this one, but I can't recall the name:

And the other retro style on this Cobra:

I've never understood FD's predilection for limiting the availability of some PJs - why have I got to wait until the end of the year to spend my Arx on Sygian Brass and other exotics? Do they think I'm going to keep playing for a whole year just to add to my paint collection?
