Pick ONE paintjob you consider to be the best of any ship's paintjob.
Here's mine: The Frontier 25th Anniversary Paintjob, only available on the Cobra MkIII and only if you were playing in Frontier's 25th anniversary year (2019). It is not available to buy.

The 25th anniversary one is a favourite of mine, although there are several similar ones in the shop.

The white wireframe cobra is an excellent choice.

But I have to go with midnight black, it just works in any situation.

I'd post a screenshot, but it's black.
And the thing about space, your basic space colour is ... it's black.
(I think you get the idea)

Midnight Black is/was only available around Black Friday, but Frontier might be replacing that with Void Black, we'll have to wait and see.

Making the lines glow with a “vanta black” base colour would be even better …

Definitely the Stygian colours! Normally I like red-coloured things:

Given the time of year in which they are available though, sometimes I change it to green because I love how both the red and green Stygian colours remind me of Christmas:

Notably the event-awarded Snowfalls are similar but with additional wintry designs.

The funny thing is, how good a PJ looks varies with the ship. There are PJs that look awesome on one ship and stupid (or at least not that great) on another. And vice versa.

Normally I like black. Personally I always wear black. And as Johnny Cash said, I'll wear black until I can find something darker.
So I was pretty excited when I heard that there now were actual black PJs in Elite... but when I looked at them, I wasn't convinced. In the end I bought not one of them.

I'll have to think some more on what combination I will nominate in this thread; so for the time being some comments:

  • Raider Corvette: wow yes, that looks really awesome with the kit. Like a Reaver ship from Firefly, I'd say.
  • Hunter Execute: hehe, I was thinking about that one for my Chief, but I already have and use the Operator Red PJ for that ship, and they are too similar for me to get both of them. But I always like a black-red combo. ^^
  • Stygian Red: that one looks really sweet on those long, rounded ships like the Cutter or the Mamba. I picked that for my AX Chieftain, and it's nice but doesn't have that level of bling.

I painted my FAS in Stygian Tungsten, as it's kinda the closest to Black-Metallic, and I really love the look but it's also really hard to get a decent screenshot of it.
