I voted yes, having one wouldn't hurt or affect anyone and it's infinitely better than P2W.
Why are some ppl so concernd about FDs business? Cant you wait untill the game released?
More money != faster development. You only have to look at Star Citizen for evidence of this, they have a huge amount of money yet they're not even at what they themselves would consider an Alpha stage, 2 years on from the initial funding of their Kickstarter campaign.
As Robert Maynard points out, If people want to donate then they can always buy skins from the store even if they have no intention of actually using them in game.
Ok, it's clear that no one (or very few) is willing to pay a fee for some features in more or speed up their release process. I ask at FD to put a Donate Button (paypal) in your internet site where those, who want to, autonomously and without imposition, may contribute to the development of the game.
It does not hurt anyone, who wants to do it is free to choose...
Do not forget that Elite: Dangerous is not just a game, it is a product of scientific valence , is the best virtual representation of our galaxy, ...this will have to be updated periodically based on new knowledge and new discoveries, ..for favor FD, allow those who want to contribute to development of this fantastic project!
What can we lose? .... we can only gain! and if goes wrong, doesn't change anything ... but we certainly can not lose!!! It's just a personal choice, why deny it to those who want?
EDIT: some one report "buy in store to donate! " but i you remember :It is not just a game. There may be people totally uninterested for skin or keychain but concerned only the scientific side .... why not allow it, if they want, to make a donation?
Only those against the idea of a donation button and would never donate anyway, are pushing this view of 'failure' and various other analogies to stiffle popular support for the idea or fobbing us off with 'use the store'.
Once again, if you like something. Support and fund it. More ways are better than just a store.
Shok.
