OK, so I'm exploring...

In generally I wouldn't recommend the DbE for exploration due to the weak fuel scoop potential making you hang around stars a higher percentage of your time, but due to its long legs now, it might be a little more worth it for racing off somewhere, such as for passenger missions and the distance requirement. For normal exploration in this price range or lower, I'd recommend a Cobra. Here's mine. → https://coriolis.edcd.io/outfit/cob...AA.EweloBhBGA2EoFMCGBzANokMK6A=&bn=The Ranger

I can see the Dolphin being a good candidate as well.

Cheers, and don't forget to enjoy yourself out there. o7

Nice! Found me a nice virgin system with a couple of water worlds, one of them terraformable :)

(You people will be thanking me when we're depleting these oceans for fresh space-whale steaks.)

In open one would imagine or they dont count :)

Well done though Vin , i remember the palin run ... once the exploration mechanics get some needed attention i'll take some time out in the black.

Thanks man - instead of viewing it as a chore, I decided to kick back and enjoy it :)

Is it theorized that most bodies would be tidally locked? I would have thought that there were more planets and moons that rotated?

Not sure if I understand you correctly, but tidally locked does not mean they don't rotate. They rotate at the same rate as their orbit, like our moon.

I think this is how I became allied with them. :)

On that note, just in case you're not aware, you can sell your exploration data to unlock higher tiers of Engineered modules from either of the two main explorer related Engineer ladies after you have them unlocked and can work with them.

This makes getting the tier 5 FSD mods a lot easier for us explorers, which naturally all my ships have.

Cheers.

Welcome to the exploration club :)

One of the objectives of my first real trip outside the bubble was unlocking Palin as well. I wonder how many people he's gotten hooked on exploring.

So, I've wondered if visiting a place that exploration data has been sold to is how it's made available (for buy cartographics). If so, I can imagine visiting Palin would unlock a wealth of purchasable system data.

I think it's just available at systems within XXly of the system you want to buy data for. But you wouldn't want to quote me on that.

So I'm about half-way to my destination (hooray for the DBX with G5 FSD). Passengers are happy, we've put our stamp on some nice systems, including a good deal of water worlds.

I'm really enjoying the trip, and having my passengers along - well, I like to think that they are having a good time, too.

Not the most exciting photo in the world, but I never stopped to look at a star long enough to realise that the solar flares are actually flaring off of the star. Pretty cool.

Heading out to Flyeia Hypai sector - Red Planet. Sure man, pass along any suggestions you might have.

lol - no, just small moons so far. I figure as long as they are close to the main star it's not too much of a hassle. I have plenty of jump range, so I figure I'll just take my time and enjoy it :)

F and A types have the best chance for ELWs so you may want to set your map to plot by them. Any planet you can land on won't be worth much (except a nice view) so I usually filter them out when I'm hoping to get rich. If you really don't plan on flying very far from the sun you may want to consider K type stars. I have a lot of luck finding terraform worlds in K systems.
