OK, so I'm exploring...

Thanks man. It's the second binary Earth-like worlds system I've found, but binary water worlds, and binary high metal content worlds sweeten the deal even more. :)

Cheers.

Yes I come across binary water worlds here and there, not once have I seen a binary ELW. Most I've found in a system is 2 ELW, but not binary...

Thanks!

When we do get to land on these guys, I've got it bookmarked so I can come back :) And....

Destination... CMDR Crossfire Walli was right - a beautiful vista. I think I and my passenger, Annabeth, will just camp here for the night, knock one out, and head on back home to turn in our exciting exploration data :D

Well, I've touched down and dropped off the passenger. Let's see...

Lightweight DBX with a 45Ly jump range... check.
4D Business Cabin.... check.
8,000 light year trip with a laid-back explorer passenger.... check.
Palin invite... check.
3W Left on the mission... check.
15M Cr mission payout... check.
30M+ Cr in exploration data... check.

I would call the mission a success. A very pleasurable exploration/passenger trip. The only reason I came back so early is so I can go see aliens.

The only gripe I have with exploring is the bugs - I kept seeing these pale blue dots all over my canopy...

My favorite is jumping into a system and you find the "first discoverer" was popping around using a basic scanner. You can tell when you honk with a ADS and suddenly you find 76 new bodies more than 500ls out, including an earth-like and a water world in binary around a "B" star they had no hope of finding...

I've already found bodies that are undiscovered. Do I have to turn that data in before I get my name on it?
Haven't check the thread, but I'm sure someone answered already, but yes.

Also, use the ED market connector and link your EDSM account as well so all your discoveries go into EDSM (but you probably already are doing that, good for other people to know though).

P.S. This is kinda cool :)
Yes! It is very cool.

The strange thing is that it actually gives me a bit of chilled awe. For each jump space and the star sky changes a bit. You're starting to notice new, strange collections of stars you never seen before, or you start seeing nebulas. Or scanning planets with weird colors (just found a tiger planet, it has black stripes). And it feels like an accomplishment to get your name on these new discoveries. It's just cool.

I want to see the void near the outer rim, but I also want to see a bunch of lovely rolls on some modules.
I'm heading for the Formidine Rift as we speak. Hence all this posting activity from me. Lots of in-between time while waiting during flight.

My conda does 56 something, laden and fully tanked. I also have a 4 slot SRV, 1 fighter bay, two AFMs, and stuff. Since I have a fighter bay, I even took on one of those npc crew members. LOL! Need some company out there in the void.

Good luck with the rolls.

One thing I don't understand, perhaps someone knows, occasionally out here in the deep void, I stumble upon USS which contains small survey data cache containers. They're not worth much, and they're "illegal". Someone was out here, obviously, and crashed. Could it be real players or is it just random?

Pretty sure it's random.

Here's something that would be cool addition to the game. The ability to drop your own beacon with a personalized message (like a flag) in a system that you've been in. Other players could scan and get message.

This is good?

It's horrible (for profit at least).

My experience is that they only spawn in systems with some valuable body in them. They do seem to be random. I've never seen one more than 10k from the bubble. Would be neat if they meant something or we could search nearby planets for escape pods, etc.
