OMG - Thargoid Cinematic was ACE!

Firstly, *clapclapclap* for FD - loved it. Please make more cinematics. TY.

Well, prior to this event, there have been numerous wreckage sightings, bearing tell-tale signs of being destroyed by unknown weaponry; not to mention an obliterated battlecruiser* which was part of the hunt for the "THARGOID RETURN" message

I want to point out, as others have, that the Thargoid was ignoring the yapping little dogs on its trail, and first attempted to PEACEFULLY shut the ships down when they moved in [remember, they know enough not to cut life support & give you free fuel afterwards]. To me, this was two non-violent ways to deal with the situation. Only when the ships fired on them did the Thargoid retaliate.

As for those other ships we found damaged, I'm willing to bet, knowing human nature, that the same sequence happened there too.

Also, what did we see of the weapon? It didn't look like the biological gunk that was eating the found ships.

Other tips: better get yer DD5 modules done before release. I have a feeling Professor Palin will be a bit difficult to reach...

Most wars of conquest are over resources, no matter what dogma is promoted. The Thargoids are/were targeting ammonia worlds. Would we really need to compete with them? Are ammonia worlds useful to humans?

Other SF writers have speculated on civilizations built on hydrogen cycles - the two spheres of influence could exist side-by-side with little knowledge and interactions between them.

I can see i am going to need more rebuys for my Corvette after buying reactive armor. 480 million is not enough and with this trailer i think i will need it.

I will not dispute that "shoot first" policy is idiotic, but it is also very very human. Hell, for all we know the Artefacts and Probes might've been a message left for us (it used Morse code, for crying out loud!), one we either chose to ignore in the name of technological advancement or we gave in to "get off my land" mentality, outright. However one thing remains certain -- so far the aliens mostly ignored us because we were not a threat (and conversely, we had no means of defence, should they just start "thargo-forming" inhabited world, for example). That has changed now.

Missed the stream, but that video was glorious! More of those, please! :D

I'm glad I've been saving my money for rebuys rather than blowing it all on reactive armor for my Corvette. Something tells me it wouldn't help much.

My thoughts exactly. They haven't attacked any humans yet (this time) have they, or did I miss that Galnet article? Yet we've seemingly developed a load of weapons and countermeasures (countermeasures to what exactly, having a greenish yellow light shone at us because that's all they've done so far..?) and are now chasing them around the galaxy mob-handed trying to blow them up for the lulz.

Remember this guy's face. When we're huddling inside a burning Coriolis on the edge of the bubble trying to work out whether we're going to run out of food or oxygen first, he's the one to blame.

Blame nothing, we eat him first. Less oxygen consumed, more food.

Yeah, he was all "Let's Make HUMANS great again!"

So we get to launch on one SLF and the Thargoids get to launch about 100!! how's that fair!!

Still, I'm looking forward to chasing those little thargon's around my ship launched fighter. ( assuming the frame rates are playable! )
