Omnimovers/Doombuggys

This has been suggested by a lot of planco community members in the past, but if I searched correctly there is no dedicated suggestion thread for it yet. 🤔

Omnimovers are a special dark ride type quite commonly used in theme parks. They are shell shaped vehicles or sometimes 4 person vehicles on a coaster track that is usually hidden under a type of floor (usually wood or carpet). They are able to be turned 360 degrees and move continously without ever stopping. Usually the entire ride track is filled with these vehicles that continously move and guests enter on a round moving turntable station or straight conveyor belt into the vehicle.

While there have been tracked and trackless darkride types in planet coaster, omnimovers have unfortunately been absent even in DLC. If you take into consideration how common they are in real life and how versatile they would be for building darkrides, I see this as a big dissapointment. Whatever might have kept the devs from including them is hopefully not an issue for Planet Coaster 2. If they aren't in the base game I hope for a DLC dedicated to darkrides, that includes them. Here are some prime examples of omnimover darkrides and their versatility in themes:
Castello de Medici - Europapark Rust (2025!!)
Phantom Manor - Disneyland Paris
The Little Mermaid - Ariels's Undersea Adventure - Walt Disney World Florida
Geisterrikscha - Phantasialand Brühl
The Seas with Nemo and Friends- Walt Disney World Florida

This is a great idea for another addition to the ride line up. Been in the haunted mansion both at disney world and disneyland as well as Ariel's grotto in disney world and I believe spaceship earth in the geosphere at epcot is one as well if my memory serves me right. Phantom theater at Kings Island was one as well but I haven't been on the last two rides inside that building to see if they've kept or changed the ride type. I will say I was happy to see the dev team release the huntsman and tracker since they utilize mechanics to be able to program the ride cars to turn specific ways. I was hoping that was the start to development of an omnimover ride in the first PlanCo for dark rides. Another dark ride concept I would like, and I'm clear can utilize some of the existing water based for this, is a darkride utilizing boats. When I was very young, I remember one of my favorite rides at Kings Island (Yes, It is my home theme park) was the Smurf's Enchanted Voyage boat ride. It was a sad day when they replaced it with the dry omnimover Phantom Theater ride. I have found a couple images of the boats from both Enchanted Voyage (before fully smurf's) and The Smurf's version... had the 4 big rounded rubber bumpers on the back, sat 2 comfortable but up to 3 per row with 3 rows per boat, and sat fairly low in the water. I was able to dip my hand over the side into the water when I was like 4 years old pretty easily. The station was another turntable style and was outside the building hence the boats outside in the pics. Looks like was made by now defunct Arrow Developments as their Boat Dark Ride

Absolutely. I'd love to get stuck in to making a really detailed dark ride.
I never got round to it in Planco1. I only ever made a few "that'll do" darkrides in some of the career scenarios.
I think that if there's no decent darkride options from launch, it would be a massive shame.

I understand we can't have everything but I will feel sad if it's back to no water rides (except slides) and no dark rides 😭

I would like to have those rides in PC2! But here they have to organise stations completely new.
We wanted a simultaneously load and unload before and unload when a car stopped somewhere in a station which was not possible and felt strange in gameplay. If they change it, we could get those rides and rotating station platforms...

Well we had the chairlifts and gondolas that never stopped and had very different stations. Maybe with the new engine these rides can hopefully be a possibility.😕

Good point. I was thinking the continual movement was the deal breaker here, but this is a great example that it can work.

That is not quite correct. You built one in your Euphoria Park. You know, the one with the inhumane queueline :ROFLMAO:

Not only that but how about a dedicated load and unload station like in the Haunted Mansion? (This goes for any other ride though as well, be it coasters, water ride or tracked ride.)

Lol. That queueline had a fun surprise element. All the guests loved it. But seriously, that was very definitively a "that'll do" darkride. As it was a round in a competition and there was a deadline, the inside was definitely smashed together with little thought or detail.

Would love to see a sea bird themed dark ride. I'm sure it would be right up your street.
