On foot kill scavengers missions, strange change, not good

I used to do this, before they implemented the current ticket system (debuted around the time of Odyssey, I think). Tickets can expire if they aren't upvoted enough, devs rarely comment on them, etc. It took them at least 1.5 years to fix the rotational correction bug AFTER players documented the workaround. I'm nowhere near as salty as the person you replied to, but I'm not going to waste my time submitting tickets into such a crappy ticket system.

I also did around 30 missions in the last week. About half of those had scavengers at them and most of those had a few to a ALL the scavengers being green to me. In most of those cases, it didn't matter as I was restoring the power to anarchy settlements. However, one mission the anarchy faction had me do in another system wasn't an anarchy settlement, shot a green guy there, and got a bounty. I had to shoot a second one, and then I had notoriety 1. Really?!

As for it being related to PP 2.0... just great. That's the reason why I did these (after turning in the first batch). If you do it in the same system you got the mission from, it's 1800 merits per pop. I kept getting missions to fix six different settlement in the same system... over and over. I earned a lot of merits, got in to top 10%, and got 50 million for the week (plus all the care packages).

I'd being doing more tonight, but the game is INCREDIBLY slow right now (forever to get to login screen and then forever to login). I wasn't going to risk all the transitions while doing missions. I guess the servers are hosed because everyone is jumping their fleet carriers out of Dhan (I just flew down there, left my carrier in place). sigh It would be nice if they fixed that bug, and the scavenger bug, and the studder bug - the last two came with PP 2.0 and studder got worse with colonization. But hey, let's focus all our efforts on fixing that grindy, new beta feature. Whatever...

Yeah it would be amazing if there were more manpower on Elite. There are a hundred small QOL things that could be done, a hundred small bugs that could be fixed and a hundred incredible features that would take Elite from 10 to 11. I AM super impressed with how it's improved over the years though, I remember the first version I played...

Staff numbers help, but it isn't everything. Look at what No Man's Sky has done with a team of around ten people.

That said, my biggest complaint right now is the ticket system. It's one thing if I submit a ticket, it stays active in the system, but it does receive a reply/confirmation and then takes awhile to fix. It's a whole different matter when you take the time to submit a ticket, they also want you to produce evidence, and then the ticket will automatically expire (often without them ever seeing it) because no one else up-voted it and/or confirmed your ticket submission.

I get not wanting to have a bunch of duplicate tickets... but if you have a bunch of separate tickets on the same issue, you make on the primary and you let all the other ticket submitters know "Hey, this is now a know issue. Please follow up on ticket number xxxxxx."

I've never felt like I was wasting my time submitting a support ticket to any other game (especially NMS), even if I didn't get much feed back. ED used to be that way before the new ticket system they introduced a few years ago. Now it's a train wreck: forum threads dedicated to highlighting issues so people can click on those tickets and make sure they stay active. Yeah, I don't work for FDev. I'm sorry, but from both a resolution AND customer satisfaction standpoint, their bug ticketing system is the worst I've ever dealt with.

The other issue is that their version control seems to be so abysmal that many things that finally get fixed end up broken again by a subsequent patch. Then players are expected to start the process all over again with a new ticket. It’s a ridiculous process.

Agreed. Though that just harms my game experience; it doesn't waste my time outside of playing. Their ticket system is an onerous chore that is often pointless (unless you comb the forums for a reported issue and add your voice to it). It is, hands down, the WORST ticket system I've ever seen. I deal with a lot of them in my work and none are this bad.

It's been awhile since I've used their support ticket system (e.g. help needed, like your ship is stuck inside a planet or something). That used to be extremely good; maybe it still is. But the bug reporting is annoying waste of time and needs to change. That's a hill I will die on.

I had this again tonight - arrived to find green and red guards at a Restore mission and cutting open the door had the green guards engage me. Please add to the issue below - help us get some noise around this bug so it attracts attention!

Contributed and voted. I've put Restore missions on pause meanwhile.

P.S. That is becoming completely idiotic, in reinforcement systems I'm having half of missions like that, even for settlements in "pirate attack" state.
Really? Guards chatting friendly with wanted pirates and then all together hunting recently arrived power-restore guy?

FYI, it's not just Restore mission that this is happening on, but it's the most noticeable. I've had these green PP people show up on Settlement Raid missions and dedicated "Eliminate Scavenger" missions. Fortunately, no both cases, the settlements were anarchy settlements.

Again, they really, really need to readjust C&P for Odyssey missions because the gameplay is so different from ground combat. It drives everyone who is aware of it to avoid missions to anywhere but anarchy sites (unless they enjoy the hassle). Seriously... I killed 2, just TWO, of these PP goons and got notoriety 1 in a non-anarchy, restore mission (oddly the mission giver was an anarchy faction). That's just dumb.

To me, the most illogical moment(s), that has happened few times:
  • from the roof of PP building I can see like in 50-80 meters Scav walks in front of Guard (few meters), both faced to me.
  • I'm taking down Scav with Executioner, Guard definitely can see that, but still green, after few seconds looking to the Scav's corpse walks on his way patrolling.
So, he is OK when I shot Scav in front of him, but if any of those good, green Guard(s) will spot me cutting panel, they will immediately start shooting me, calling for reinforcement. What????

Yeah I got notoriety after killing just one green scav - and he was one of the 12 that was being counted off for the mission. Going to jail for doing my (legal) job is just an annoying additional part of my game loop. Frankly this is very Star Citizen-esque! I go to jail for nothing all the time in SC!

But anyway, have you upvoted the issue?
