One Thing I've learned from Elite: The Future is Full With Ugly People

The present is filled with ugly people, you just get a high end selection presented by the media.

Maybe you need to get out more.

And in the media, they are photoshopped on top (or use body-part doubles).

Fake news. Fake news everywhere!

Also, the NPCs in ED are not 'ugly'. They have 'charakter'. ;)

Also I'm sure its been pointed before but pretty sure Professor Palin is really Gordon Freeman from Half Life. Both have the same hair cut and goatee. Both like orange jump suits. Both are professors of science. And both are experts in aliens. Palin doesn't have glasses but he's had more than enough time to get his eyes fixed.

I agree with the OP. Those are some ugly mugs. Not the ugliest in the game by a long shot, but pretty ugly.

I've only come across maybe two AIs that looked basically ok.

The real world is full of beautiful people. I see them every day at work, on the street, while shopping, etc. The vast, vast majority look better than the ones in ED.

Pointing out the ugliness is frowned upon in the future. And your example is not the worse of it
Birds of a feather :D

Those are not good by default. Smiling is illegal in space and posture slouching is bad.

Exactly. There are no decent or good looking folks in ED. Just those rode hard and put away wet.

Being space engineers on remote atmosphere less words inside domes can't be particularly good for the complexion. Some were pilots too, and it's hard life being a pilot even with rebuys, what with all the trauma from multiple explosions, escape pod almost-coffin waiting, and stuffed in Remlock tech for the duration of one's career and life in space. Maybe that will change when ED someday gets atmospheric open worlds, and walking in the sunlight with fresh breezes under colored skies.. (And ED's faces, imo aren't really that much worse than initial ESIV: Oblivion and ESV: Skyrim 's faces before mods)

And the crew members..... :( must be the zero gravity, all those Gs, hard to get by living on a ship..

Show me your holome and I tell you if you're a PvP'ler.

Just saying :D

You seem to be equating being silly and messing with the tools given to make stupid looking (yet hilarious) avatars with being a PvP'er. My character looks normal but if I were not on games I deem more PvP-focused I'd be ganking and PvPing all over this game instead.

No, I was making a fun about players using blue or red hair and ridiculous looking faces being mostly PvPlers
