I can say the same. And you know what I am talking about, by the way, as you did posted it yourself. PvE and PvE need completely different stuff.
If seriously, they might just separate PG/Solo and Open and be done with it. May be into two different games. Best possible course of action.

Or we will have this situation for the rest of ED's lifetime:

About splitting the BGS (i.e. the game):

Will at any time solo and private group play be separated into a different universe/database from open play? It's kind of cheap that you can be safe from many things in solo, like player blockades and so on, and still affect the same universe.

No.

Time to rethink it, I guess. As difficulty of doing stuff in the Open powercreeps alongside RNGneers.

.... or not, as the case may be. It depends on whether Frontier would be prepared to deal with four permanent divergent galaxy states - MB's succinct response rather suggests that they're not.

Given that base game owners and Horizons owners mix in both multi-player game modes (and have done since the release of Horizons), probably not, in my opinion.

Then create NEW open mode, which would require horizons and will use different save files. Balancing this out would be a nightmare, if they will ever get to it. At status quo, we have mode switching as a performance standart and gameplay feature, for powerplay and BGS included. Immersive much?

Frontier don't seem to show any inclination to add any more game modes - and, from what they've said, multiple saves per account seem to be equally unlikely.

For players whose personal definition of immersion does not require direct interaction with other CMDRs it probably remains sufficiently immersive.

Now there is an idea I can support.

Create a new open mode, new BGS, new save file and you can go play with like minded players all day long.

+1

(shame there would only be about 50 - 100 of you ever load it, get bored and come right back here because you're lonely)

Like this?

Meaningful PvP Proposal

Keep it simple & the numbers shouldn't be so much of an issue, just need to decide what to fight over. Some of the ideas from the OP could be used.

Much like this. Only that it would require just more server racks, and that is all. No developement efforts.
Would be a fine way to reset all this inflation mess. Or leave option to copy your save file once. Or no new save files, just allow entry with no pending transactions (cargo is the same as bounty voucher database-wise) only, same as you suggested. Only if that it will have some cooldown on switching.

I would not say that it would be unpopulated. I cannot even guess how much people do not play/haven't bought the game because of this mess we have with modes.

LOL.

Go ask someone the meaning of /s :D

I do not use it. :D

"Unpopulated", no - there will be some folks.
But as a Dev said already that the majority of players do not engage in PvP - you'll have less players there than you have here.

And of course, this isn't the first time a PvP only BGS / Server has been asked about - can you guess what the answer was?

Equally, one would require to guess how many players would not be playing the game at all were it not for the three game modes - or whether it would even have been successfully Kickstarted in the first place.

Actualy, I do like separate piece of space for local EvE subsidiary more than separate game modes. As long as there would be some sort of bus to that part of space.

Well, they would only drown deeper into balancing hell/imbalance ignoring if they would not do this rather sooner than later.

.... which would be a much more palatable compromise position for those who enjoy the game the way it is currently.

The galaxy is *huge*, after all.

So modify your proposal based on the feedback received to overcome the legitimate objections raised. I had avoided plugging my own idea in your thread because I wanted this to be wholly from a PvPer (the principal reason mine failed).

I don't think it matters where the idea comes from but others (the target market for both our proposals) do.
You have seen this here too, with objections to your comparisons to how other games handle PvP (which again is a good angle to take inspiration from).

Better new one. This thread is beyond redemption.

And btw, there is nothing bad in current suggestions.
