Go ahead. I am begging you to apply the same reasoning you are using here.

If your play time is especially limited then exploration is also a great choice. You can fly around the black and scan things at your own pace. No need to dock or land, when you're done just log out in space and you can pick up where you left off. When you return home you'll have data banks full of valuable data. It's not the most efficient credit/hour wise, but other activities require more involvement and more focus.

Ok. And let's add a fun killer to it with zero penalties.

There is very little risk in exploration by default apart from your own errors. Repetition is a big problem. When you perform the same exact task over and over you tend to cut corners. Before AFMS and repair limpets attrition was your enemy. The little things you did that caused damage that was at the time irreparable. You could argue that AFMS and repair limpets are in fact those risk mitigating fun killers you hate so much, so why not? Throw those in too while you're at it.

You can farm rebuys and haul your cargo again as well. So it is the same.

But it's not all futile. Sometimes the unexpected things cause you to make really neat discoveries. I've inadvertently wandered into a field of dwarf stars. The number of scoopable stars is now very low for the next 300 or so light years. If I had less jump range then it'd probably be a call to the Fuel Rats, but thankfully I didn't push that hard. So, I need to make a detour to one of the few scoopable stars in my 50Ly jump range. It's a G class sun. Let's see what's there!

The question I have is; 'Who's fun are we talking about?"

Because My Fun doesn't owe Your Fun a thing. Everyone is able to pursue their fun, but only along side those that want to be there. Making absurd correlations only serves to point out your desperation.

Nothing absurd here. And any risk premiums added do not owe your fun a thing either. Lack of those owe a thing to my fun instead.
If you think that arguing with people who go to any lenghts to twist logic and make fools of themselves is not fun to me, I would not be here. So no desperation either.

And Open game mode was not intended to be a PvP matchmaking system it is now.

I have no such compunction to do your work for you.
And no, nothing about what FD creates is obvious to me, especially their intent.
They've completely lost me since wings were created.

Apart from when your enjoyment is derived from competing against mine in a shared environment. There has to be a middle ground when competition comes into the equation.

So, remember that detour? Well, I got something!

A terraformable planet that's landable! Not exactly rare, but not altogether common either. And look! It's got a little Polonium!

I think I'll stay a while!

Have fun playing that way. Honestly. This game is balanced for this stuff.
I had done planet landing for a while. With 700+ G5 mods done.

And there is literaly no reasons for other parts of the game to be balanced as well.

There is middle ground, it's called equal access to the BGS no matter what mode you're in.

So if someone is grinding away in Solo, their value is the same as yours grinding away in open (as I've done for a month now, unhindered).

If you choose to be sociable however, you and only only you are at fault for the drop in your productivity.
You chose interacting with others, no one chose that for you.

Full of logic and a completely neutral position.

Totally impeccable game design.

By the way. So there is some loss of productivity, or there is none like you were claiming?

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
The use of the word '' (or other similar ones used with the same intent to troll/flame) will result in moderation. I've already cleaned up a lot of that in here.

We can have a conversation without resorting to puerile and offensive insults.

Something I wrote earlier in this thread, about the quality of content:

I would like to remind all participants and readers that if a proposal is made, all that is needed (the bare minimum if you have an opinion at all) is to state your support or otherwise, once. The number of contributors to the thread is what's important, not the number of posts each contributor makes.

If you would like to support or oppose part or all of a proposal some justification is a worthwhile addition, and discussion of what you believe to be erroneous logic can be very helpful to discover flaws and offer improvements that would make it acceptable to you (if you oppose the original version).

If you want to support the proposal as much as possible, supplying case studies (simple or detailed) will help considerably to clarify the urgency and importance of implementing the proposal. If you want it to have the best chance of success, avoid berating the opposition at all costs, and instead present arguments that explicitly refute the central point. For example:

Argument: Reward Open because I need to reinforce my ship to survive PvP, so I can't carry as much cargo.
Refute: Open is not dangerous, other players are dangerous. Reward PvP encounters, not just the mode. This kind of response is ideal.
Simple Contradiction: I disagree. This is the minimum useful contribution, box ticking.
Ad Hominem Attack: The poster doesn't know what they are talking about. This tells the reader more about the attacker than the target.
Base Insult: The poster is an idiot. This is of no use at all and should ideally be removed by a moderator.
