To be fair here Morgan Grimes - your OP question was answered .. No you would not have known about this in game .. I wouldn't call this an open/solo/group discussion though .. but the fact that FD made (Part of) the story open only was going to raise some of the points from that debate.

Well it has now yes, but it did devolve rapidly into a mode debate again as these things often do :)

Just another nail in the coffin, underlining a very poor design from the start, Yes I play in open, and PVP, but having to do it in open because they can do it any other way, just High lights the issue!

I've said it in a couple different places so far, and I'll repeat it here just coz this is finally the right sort of topic.

Having to do this in open and possibly get ripped by other players isn't my issue with this being open-only content. The issue is the instancing and the fact my Australian internet is utter weaksauce. Not FD's fault per-se, but it should definitely be a consideration if they're going to make you meet up with RP'ed players to get at content.

I stand no chance of participating in this (though I can't anyway; next event comes on in 10 minutes and I'll be at work XD) because when I came online last night to find "The Red Trader", I read on the forums there were dozens of players online in Cail. As I flew around in open, I was lucky to see just one other player, because of the instancing and my rubbish connection.

Not cool to have content limited essentially due to geographic location.

Has there been a post from FD saying open only as planned, as opposed to "there was a problem" with Phase I, which could be interpreted to mean was not meant to be open only.

I may be a bit steamed that I'm in the wrong timezone and was in bed during the (literal) three minutes it took for SDC to blow the guy up :p

Honestly, I don´t think so, just game on. Any important stuff will splat into our faces in a newsletter and another 4374 postings thread.
Most important information for me was that a FD player on a marketing mission was griefed by terrorists (don´t mix with pirates!) and I find that really funny. Maybe FD wakes up. If not, I hope the terrorists get even more annoying FOR FD so they may think about actions.
