Open PvE

Can I just add!, some people are using the community goals to validate their point of view, don't forget that the Xbone crowd will also play in their own instance of the game that will be effecting the metagame, this other group will no doubt have its own pvp and pve community.

Multiple slots are because if I am reading what he says right, he wants a PVE mode, but that mode and Open PVP mode to be utterly separate servers with their own BGS.

So I can only assume they will be happy with a monthly subscription cost to cover the seperate servers, employees to write GalNet content, server management etc.

Still not a fan of seperate open modes with seperate saves. It's trying to fix a problem that doesn't exist.
 
Why though? Those asking for a PVE server have a valid request as I can see it that would take little effort to create, what valid reason would you have for the mass expenditure needed to change the core game and make duplicate servers?

I wrote on previous pages. to make it right and fair. Different worlds for PvE and PvP without a switch. To existing modes you can add a mode Open PvP (without possibility to get in or out from/to PvE) and this will be ok.
Players who would like to play on it will be moved. I do not know how they have tachnically resolved this. Maybe they need another server, maybe some code... i am talking about effect that i would like to see as a player.

At least there can not be an separate galaxy for me, just a separate mode with separate save.
It's trying to fix a problem that doesn't exist.

You say to make things right and fair.. and from what you've said about blockading because when you PVP there are others you cannot see who are affecting pp and on different servers. Yet you fail to take into account that if there were separate servers you would still have issues with not seeing the people as with instancing most will slip by you without ever being seen.
 
Your last option is the only one which would work for me personally as it does not take anything away but I fear it would cost FD too much (actually maybe not if you are happy sharing the same persistant universe) and would created even more "open is a wasteland" complaints

Me too, but FD have to promise its a one way ticket, if people make that choice then they have to start again to come back, just as asked for that CMDR is locked in forever!. No point in developing it just to transfer everyone back into open after all that work because they cant find any sheep.

Add a PVE mode in the menu so every player knows its an option, rather than the < 10% that even register on the forums and find out about PVE groups and he has my vote too, on his last point that you agreed with.

Now here is a crazy idea and not possible but I will make it anyway to illustrate a point. Locked Open and Open PVE modes, lets get together and approach FD, offering to pay the price of the development if they implement both modes, if either fail, as in a lot of the people want to leave, that group pays the bill for both lots of development.

I know which one I would put my money on, not being a betting man I would have to be pretty damn sure PVE would be just fine before I committed myself, locked open mode with no sheep, Mmmm not so much.

yes, instancing is a problem, but when you try blockade in a system there always somebody get to your instance, Of course you will not be able to blockade a system in 100%, but flying in this system will be dangerous for enemy, because he will have a big chance to get an instance with a large number of defending ships.

I can't see any benefit of mutiple slots. I'm not interested in maintaining 2 characters just so I can have fun in my own but then be expected to switch to another game, ship and credits when I want to play with a friend. It's not workable.

In my opinion at least, mutiple saves would cause more issues than it solves. One save for the main game, the other for boosting a sidewinder into people docking for fun and no consequence.

Multiple slots were mentioned by FD, I assume they are still on a list somewhere, I personally would like the 3 mentioned (IIRC), my current, one for exploring and one for ironman maybe.

I understand your concerns but by the time FD get to it (if they still intend to do it) they should have the shadowban system working well, they could also shadow ban your account not just 1 of 3 of your CMDR's for being an A hole, like a lot of things FD have mentioned we have to wait and see I guess.

I don't think there is a possibility to always have someone in every instance. There are so many factors.. and blockading had nothing to do with PP anyways.

Yet the BGS is still central even with Horizons.. well on the Horizon. The game is evolving with the BGS still a central core of the game. I would hope ED doesn't pull a SWG because the backlash from that hurt Sony and Lucas Arts.. and led to the eventual ending of the game. SWGEMU is bringing the original back.. I'd prefer my ED FDev driven and not have to EMU it to play because the core of the game is changed.


And what about explorers.. do they need to now log into different modes to explore and get their names on things? YOu are the first to Alpha Centari.. well on this server. CMDR Bat Guano got to it a month ago on the other server, and CMDR Major Kong got it in Solo over a year ago. With just ONE BGS FDev made a comment awhile back that it would take Decades (if I remember correctly) for all the stars in the game to be mapped correctly.. Are we now going to change it to centuries for each Server?

Frontier have made it quite clear, there is now and only will be - one background server.
Frontier have made it quite clear, they support multiple modes and the ability to switch between them.
This is all shown in the last link in my sig (the yellow one).

So can we please stay on topic, this thread is about requesting a new mode for PvE only play - not the background simulation or separation of BGS / Modes - there is a thread for that.

As there is a new PvP only mode coming, it would be nice for those who want PvE only to have their own mode in the main menu as well.
It would also be helpful for those players that do not know about the Mobius Group as a place to PvE away from PvP.

Newsletter 84. At the current rate it will take 23,417 years to discover every system. :)
 
Never going to happen please FD lock solo and open let the players that dont want PVP sit in solo and players that want pvp sit in open make it unchanging unless they clear save
 
like i said they wil never do that to open so please if you want no pvp go to solo and hide but do not come backinto open with a spammed up anaconda and pretend to yourself you did i it the hard way
