I'd love to chat, but I'm too busy running these passenger missions! When I'm done, maybe I'll log back in with one of my other CMDR slots, and we can chat about this some more in game?

in all seriousness, I quit this game months ago. It turns out, it's not the game I was looking for after all -- shame. I only came back to read about Horizons. I was surprised to see this thread still on the front page.

I don't know, I think they've been fairly clear why they want FD to undertake an Open PvE mode. In fact, it seems like a pretty reasonable request, since they provide an Open PvP mode...

So what are the reasons you won't share for not wanting an official Open PvE mode?

One group out of how many, you don't know. So your claim that "pittance" of 10000 players from one group belittles your assumption that ONLY Mobius players want a PVE server which already has been proven false. You say there are not enough to warrant a mode, yet you yourself admit that you DON'T KNOW how many.. seriously if your going to troll at least try harder. It is so easy to get you to invalidate yourself.

It would be my new home if we were able to join Open PvE! Couldn't be too hard to implement and there is certainly a demand for it.

I understand that groups are meant to cover it, but I would prefer an official home where we can interact with CMDRS and work on coop play etc.

For the mean time I will remain in Solo or PvE group.

Again you create an argument out of thing air. You don't have a real argument so now you are just grasping for any straw man argument you can come up with. Mobius is significant in numbers and a good dang example that people are looking for Open PVE, but at no point is Mobius portrayed as representing the whole community.

You've already accepted that an Open PvE mode wouldn't be as successful at preventing PvP as Mobius has been, but that the risks are worth it. A guild in Open with it's own security wing wouldn't be 100% successful either, but the value gained remains the same. So is it still worth it?

I don't think that what you consider to be acceptance was. You are now using Guilds to insinuate that there is no requirement for an Open-PvE mode - Guilds are not supported by the game - but you know that and that's another thread entirely. An Open-PvE mode is, in my opinion, entirely worth it - it may take a wee while to settle down and for the false-flag players to have their account banned from the mode - but worth it all the same.

Yep because that worked out so well with all the people whining about the 3 modes and the ability to swap because they didn't "know" ED is mostly PvE regardless of what mode you are in!

As we move across the Serengeti we see a herd of PVErs moving across the sector. Oh look a PVPer came in and separated a limping T-9 from the herd, but they know one had to die for the safety of the herd is increasing your odds that you won't be the one attacked.



Sometimes I swear that is what some view PVErs as.. prey animals..

I see he is still up to his old dirty tricks. To any who have joined the game in the recent past, this player is lying when saying he is a friend to the Mobius group. The real truth is he joined the PVE group then, with his mate, claiming he got bored, he went around shooting many unarmed members of the PVE group in direct contravention to the rules of the group he joined. The like the huge ego inflated person he is, he went on forums boasting about how hard he was.
He and his pathetic friend were duly thrown out of Mobius and since then he has tried to take the mickey out of the group by making such crass comments as the ones in this thread. He is just flaming and trolling and looking for more pathetic notoriety to further inflate his sad ego. There you go little man, I have added to your poor sad tally.

By the way nothing written in this post contradicts anything about this player, its just the way he is and I have made it to illustrate to new forum members, how shallow his words are so they are not taken in by his mockery.

That's "all" they have to do, but are they willing to do it? How long are you going to wait patiently before deciding that FD has no interest in providing Open PvE?

5 months and 1100 posts, and not a single Developer post.

I have to admit, this is a very good point........ if only the logic carried to the "other" maga thread as well!!! (though that ones folly is pretty much certain as the Devs HAVE posted there promising there are no plans to change the status quo. Now, I may be wrong but it could be that one of the reasons why FD are not interested is because they feel mobius is doing a grand job (and he is) however as someone else mentioned before, if suddenly for what ever reason he packed up, then perhaps FD would then feel the need to do something.... or maybe they wont. Actually a dev post on here, even if it is stating no interest in an open PvE group would perhaps help put this issue to bed.

I have a sneaking suspicion the reason this thread exists is due to Mobius lacking members online to play with. And, if that is the case, and there are also less members online in open, well, it points to the problem not being a lack of PvE mode or open monsters murdering people--but a content issue with the game itself.

Thus, Open needs to stay as is and the developers need to figure out a way to lure players into the game.

I see plenty of hollow boxes in mobius... I can only speak for myself of course but I would rather have fewer players in the group but who are happy to stick within the rules rather than the masses who just go in with a view to griefing. My ONLY 2 concerns are
1) the time it takes for mobius to organise, and will he get bored
2) the players currently playing in solo because they feel forced to, or are in open and considering leaving the game fullstop who do not know there is another way.

For me human CMDRs offer a bit of life to the galaxy and I would, all things being equal rather they were there, but I have zero interest in PvP. I would rather play in solo than be constantly worrying if some prat is going to ram me in the station or same team attack me or blow me up just for the lolz.

so no..... again, only speaking for myself but there are no lack of members for me in Mobius and indeed I cant think of a single play session over an hr out side of exploaration where I do not see a couple of CMDRs. Even exploring I have bumped into 1 person on here, purely at random..... Which if you listen to some people in the other megathread, is MORE than they claim to see in open!!!

I would have thought a Mobius player of much higher standards.

I did some PVE Trophy hunting last night, it was very exciting and while killing a wing of griefing Eagles in my FDL, I found a new form of content and found it very enriching for me.
I even had 2 other players in my wing to share the content with! MOAR!
