Opinion on Orcas

As I understand it, the majority already wants to see orca and orca shows in the game (which made me very happy). :)
We found a very nice solution for this. :)
WingardiumLevicoaster as my friend said:
It would be also good, if you schedule too many shows and don't give them enough privacy/space they are confiscated too and fines. And drop in visitors for mistreatment.
Me too I already before mentioned. :)

I don't believe animals belong in zoos either.. but if we are going to have a game. It's all or nothing from my standpoint. Orcas are not any more special than an elephant or a giraffe. It's still captivity. Which is why I say they can be in the game.

Well, I agree with you, for a tiny bit. Of course it is a game, but a Giraffe, and Elephants, probably won't mind living in a field and being fed everyday.

While a Orca or Dolphin actually roams the entire ocean for a living. How does keeping them in bassins help them?

Otherwise, lots of animals are kept in zoo's to ensure their existence on this planet (unfortunately). I don't think Orca's are kept for the same reason.

Still, it is a game, and I would not be that upset if they do turn up in the game, this is just a morale thing. I think they shouldn't someone else thinks otherwise.

We will not put dolphins or killer whales in these teeny indoor pools in this game. Thanks to the system of Planet Zoo we will be able to make wonderful natural looking pools.

We can't know for sure.. and I think it depends on the zoo. I'm sure they would much rather be an a sanctuary or reserve with places to roam. Regarding it being s game, obviously these animals won't truly come to harm, being AI. The most important thing is the game doesn't encourage such bad practices and put emphasis on conservation. Then it can be educational. Regardless of the animal. Why eat a cow but not a dog? Free an orca and not an Elephant? I know it's a lot more complex.. but at the same time I like to think all animals deserve the same. Which leads me to believe that an Orca shouldn't be 'more' controversial than other large creatures, just because of their current high profile. It's all not good so therefore no reason why they cannot be in game. Is my view

Absolutely I agree. All I want in this game. I wanted to make a natural pool of killer whales and seldom wanted to do a show with orca. But they didn't support me. Thank you...

My general opinion on the subject is this is a fantasy game. A realistic fantasy game, but nonetheless should be allowed to have the freedoms of a "game". Orcas in Zoo Tycoon or Planet Zoo would be fine cause they don't have to be bound by the real limitations Orcas have. Will animal rights advocacy groups pitch a fit, probably. They likely will anyways though over stuff like the elephants already in the game. While it's a sensitive subject people need to realize that it is still a game, and games don't need to obey realistic norms. Since people will ultimately mod Orcas into the game if they aren't in a base aquatic DLC to begin with, I see little reason to not just include them. Give people the option if they want them, if not, no harm no foul. While its nice to want a realistic zoo that obeys modern conservation and morality laws, it is ultimately a sandbox game. People are gonna still want to cram a lion, polar bear, alligator, elephant, and tiger into a small cage and let them fight. People are gonna want to cage off visitors and feed them to tigers. The expectations of sandbox games and the reality of what they are is far different. Limiting creative freedom to be sadistic or push a conservation narrative is what drove Zoo Tycoon Xbox to bomb. Hopefully Frontier doesn't make the same mistakes twice.

I absolutely agree with you :) But people don't want to understand. If you've read what we've written, we've already created a lot of solutions. There are many solutions like this ...

I'd love for marine animals like Orca, dolphins and sharks to eventually make it onto the scene. While I disagree with having any Orca or dolphin in captivity, this is a game, and people need to be able to separate games from reality.

Tbh I'm expecting their to be a DLC later down the line that features an aquatic DLC which would feature animals such as Seals, sea lions, dolphines etc. However there has been a lot of speculation about Orcas. While I have watched documentaries like BlackFish and understand the implications of having Orcas in captivity. I understand this is a game, its not real so there is no real implications from having orcas in the game but it is still a very grey subject area imo.

What are all of your opinions of Orcas as DLC?

My suggestion for the Orca/Killer whale. I was wondering if they may subspecies of orcas in the game?

Let me add my opinion.
I don't want to raise the debate again. But considering a game like GTA, I don't think that orca and orca shows will be a problem in this game.

I’d love to have orcas and other “small” cetaceans included at some stage. Even sharks (like Hammerheads and Great Whites) that realistically don’t survive in captivity.
