orbital construction site fleeing away

Hello, I have started an orbital construction site and now I can't finish it. The construction site is flying away at high speed and I can't land on it. Can someone please give me a tip on what I can do? should I create an issue ticket or will the FDev team automatically find and fix it at some point? here is a video of my landing attempt

Many thanks, regards CMDR John Guevara

This happens when you drop into one frame of reference, but for some reason the construction site itself gets attached to a different one.

Sometimes you can do something about this - if you've got a FC nearby, move it to be around a different planet to stop it interfering ... if you're building around one of a pair of binary planets, maybe it'll only happen at some relative orbital positions. Often you can't.

You could try raising a support ticket - Frontier have been able to move some cases of these with NPC constructions to different non-interfering orbits before - but I don't know if they can do that for colonisation constructions.

There's also a bug report at https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/75280 which you could upvote and add your example to, and then come back to finish the build in a few years if they can come up with a systematic fix.

but I don't know if they can do that for colonisation constructions.
I've heard of cases this was done, for constructions placed in the wrong spot by the placement bug. So theoretically possible... but whether it can be done for something caught in an orbit too close to another body without moving it to a different slot, or the otherwise static construction site, is another matter.

My ticket for the same problem: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/77170

can't you dock manually? I mean, turn off the autodock. You are getting closer, it just seems like the autoock is misinterpreting the direction of the station, its trying to align the wrong way around. Pretty sure you can dock at it manually.

It’s a known issue. No fix yet for it. Two of the construction sites in my system have been in this state since April.
