Out of Fuel? - Explorer Rescue Service, The Fuel Rats

Well yesterday was a holiday here in the US, 2.4 is bound to be released soon and I felt the need to ramble on some about SOP and what's coming in 2.4

Another thought about SOP changes, if we're reviewing them.

On PS4 for C0d3 R3d cases, if the client is unsure what system they're in, and their position within the system, the dispatcher could get the client to review their last 15 minutes of gameplay to check, as the PS4 buffers by default 15mins of footage.

- click "SHARE" button (by default I think)
- click "Video Clip" (this saves to PS4 HDD)
- press circle to abort share-uploading
- press PS button (to go to XMB)
- go to "Apps" and find "Capture Gallery"
- start and find Elite Dangerous folder
- find the last video (which you just saved)
- watch video and check system and position

You obviously want client in MM, as it could take a while, and this decision needs to be given quickly, or the video buffer will fill with them in MM or in empty space, but could be useful.
Either the steps could be used in SOP as needed, or you could just make it standard that client goes to MM and saves video, which might save valuable seconds from them trying to find their system info and write it down?

I often take screenshots or video of client's wing beacon position, if far away, to better get exact distance to drop to.

I have tryed a few times but i can't register on the fuel rats site it won't let me register.
What am i doing wrong ? I filled all the spaces right.

I'm on holiday at the moment but I suggest you just drop in to the IRC chat, get into the #RatChat channel and ask for help on joining the rats. If you can't find an easy way to do that then you could just go to fuelrats.com, click the Get Help button, explain you want to join and someone should be able to help from there.

So, seen all the great work the Fuel Rats have done, never had cause to call upon them until today, happily taking the Clipper (havent flown it for over a year) off to the Engineers for upgrades and got distracted, I hadnt filtered the map for scoopables and ran out along the way. Slightly embarrassing considering I'm supposed to be an Elite explorer but hey ho. Thought about self destructing as I was only a few jumps away from my start point (terrible fuel tank) but then thought about trying out the Fuel Rats. As expected, sorted within minutes and back on my way. An unexpected but pleasant interaction with Cmdr Dran in game and another great save by the Fuel Rats, Thank you.

I'd like to join. Play via PS4.

The Confluence link should have the info, but as we're having the odd technical issues on the site (so the ship link doesn't work), here's a summary:

- get a suitable ship (20Ly or more jump range. Cargo rack, fuel transferer limpet controller, fuel scoop, limpets, happy-go-lucky attitude)
- join our iRC channel (the #ratchat one)
- ask about joining
- read the SOP (clicky me)
- watch and observe the live rescues (on #fuelrats channel)
- ask for a "drill" test, or just start calling jumps and live test with an experienced rat
- profit! (actually there's no monetary profit ;) )

Not technically true - any single honk on your way to/from a rescue will pay for the limpets you use, so any more jumps through unscanned systems will in fact be profitable.

Assuming you fit a ADS (which is likely, but not certain), and assuming you pass through un-honked systems.
In-bubble i often get rescues with no un-honked systems i pass thru = no profit at all.

You've also not mentioned repair bills, as my rat-conda can accumulate 50K repairs pretty easy... so how technical do you want to get on this? ;)

The main point i was trying to make to the new-rat is: do not consider being a Fuel Rat as a profitable activity. (just about) Every other thing in the game pays more.

The Fuel Rat Mischief is in an Expansion state at Nu Indi again. If anyone has spare time, please do a mission or two at Shatalov Colony, or drop off some exploration data

TFRM is in an election at Nu Indi.

So if anyone has spare time between clients, and you'd like to help us grab another system, then any help running missions etc it'd be appreciated. I'm not a BGSer, but believe we need 15% more than them when the election ends.

We control Shatalov Colony, but the system controlling faction (Nu Indi Commodities) has Northrop Enterprise and a planetary base: https://eddb.io/system/factions/14753

I have reached the milestone of 100 rescues!

I was going to put a detailed breakdown of my stats and do a short analysis, but the new website is still being built so instead I'll hand everyone a snickers bar.

I have eaten many a snickers bar camping Jackson's lighthouse or 18 Camelopardalis, so it's only fair I share the snickers bars!

Oh, and a screenshot of the weekend's TFP drills. By the end of them, I had improved from 162km to regularly dropping within 5km. Drilling TFP's helps!
