I got Broker after turning in the mission for 20M so it counts for a little trade at least.
Thanks for that - thought I had added a mention of the trade rank, but it seems not - added now (at bottom).
If you run the mission without anti corrosive cargo racks, take Auto Field-Maintenance Unit for repairing Cargo Hatch.
Once you get alien stuff on board, constantly look at cargo hatch and if it ever falls below 100 repair at once. You can let the other stuff corrode away without major problems but if cargo hatch gets damaged, you loose some or all cargo.
I'm quite new to ED and i decided to take this mission in open play. I took the mission and went to the crash site. There was FDL parked and i was happy to see someone... for a few seconds before he started shooting at me. I was in ASP X that was in no way a match for this monster of a ship and even if it was, i still lack the skill. Eject, eject, eject after about 15 seconds.

I just earned 200 million CR by getting an AspX, filling it with normal cargo racks and a field repair unit. I went to the downed scout, and merrily scooped up about 70 tons of the stuff with my SRV. I was idly wondering whether the cargo would damage the ship in my absence, but figured I'd find out about this soon enough. Then I got into my AspX and noticed that all the lights were out because that cargo was already eating through things, most of all the reactor.
SWEET JESUS you guys weren't joking that using regular cargo racks "might be risky".
I got to Obsidian Orbital with 1% left on the reactor, 5% or so on the thrusters, had to dodge an interdiction, had to reboot because I got thrown out of frameshift once, and I docked with just over 1 minute left of emergency oxygen. The AFMU was only a class 3 so it was in no way shape or form able to repair as fast as that goddamn cargo was burning through my systems. And I had to prioritize repairing the cargo hatch to avoid spilling out my precious green poop pills.
So yeah there might be a tiny bit of risk involved. Anyway I've finally gotten my first Anaconda (I'm relatively new to this, been only playing since Alpha) and I can finally enjoy the view of a flying clothes iron.
A+++ would reenact "Course: Oblivion" again.

I've been doing these missions - they only wanted 4 resins at every run, stocked up with 12 unites - 50 mil right there. Repeat!

What am I doing wrong? When I went to scout ship there was only 3 resin, 2 biologicals and a techno. Which wasn't very helpful as Palin wanted 4 resins. I drove around and around whilst my ship melted but no other target points / thargoid stuff. Help!

No, you could go to another source.
In case some folks see this thread and don't already know, you can get the Palin mats at either of the two Thargoid scout wreck locations. They are just scattered around the wrecks. Relog to get more to spawn. Some videos to help you...
This is a very convenient method of making credits. I've made something like 13billion in my two accounts using this method.

Note that the mission is probably blocked by the attack at Obsidian Orbital today.
Typical for me with this game, started the game tonight for the first time in nearly a year to do some palin missions fly to Maila and lo and behold missions no longer available... oh well back again when I can be bothered. Oh well FD you nearly put something in I got interested in..

Is it permanently gone? Damn those Thargoids!You had almost a year to do this. You chose the exact time something in-game happened that made palin missions unavailable temporarily. It's not so much FD failing to put something in that you're interested in (Credits? Really? You're playing for credits?), it's more that you failed to take advantage of what was obviously going to be a time limited thing from the start. Or did you expect Palin to pay out hundreds of millions of CR to each player for the next decade?

But I'm super nice! I'm an orca! We do tricks for fish even!
It's just that no money well lasts forever. There will be opportunities in the future, don't worry too much about Palin. And don't play this game for the credits. That just leads to disappointment.
