Surely this is only true if you overcharge the PP to meet the power demands? When the FSD is one or more sizes bigger than the plant, that will heat up the ship.
I have to disagreeIt's always entertaining to see the thousands of posts about elite ships where nobody can agree on a single thing.
The stat that matters is the heat efficiency. If you get away with a plant with the same engineering but two sizes lower, heat will be the same - often the case for unarmed vessels. If you have to overcharge it, it will of course run hotter. A low emissions plant has a heat efficiency of 0.126, an overcharged one 0.45. Lower is better.Surely this is only true if you overcharge the PP to meet the power demands?
A low emissions power/thermal spread plant should run cooler regardless of size relative to FSD.
