Panther Clipper Mk2 Update Bugs

So I've encountered what appears to be a couple of bugs in the Panther Clipper Mk2 update.

The first I noticed straight away. The lighting in my carrier hangar is turned off. No lights at all except from the holo-ads. Pitch black otherwise.

The second, is that LYR is no longer giving his 15% discount. Well, it seems he is on ships, but no longer on modules. I thought it may have been just because I was trying to outfit the pre-built Panther, but on swapping to my Mandy, there are still no discounts.

I've run the file check on the game files, just to be sure nothing was corrupted, but it's still the same.

If I run into any more, I'll update this post.

Hope these get fixed soon FDev. ☺️

UPDATE 1: Seems Jameson Memorial isn't giving its 10% discount either. Looks like discounts are broken?

UPDATE 2: The Kickstarter discounts are also missing.

UPDATE 3: After checking prices at Shin Dez and comparing to EDSY, it looks like the discounts ARE being applied, but the text to show those discounts is missing. Thanks to @Cmdr. Numa for also confirming this.

Great update. Now the bay lights are out on my carrier. Now i gotta call the Super. I HATE calling tha' Super. Whatever he can't fix he blames on me. Water leaks are next, i just know it. I don't even want to THINK about a bug infestation...this place is falling apart...i gotta move before they find asbestos. AND THE RENT????!!! OMG Becky... the weekly is shredding my wallet. I don't even care about the deposit anymore...

Here, scanning ships has not returned any data material since the update. Bug or casual? I'll keep on trying

[Edit: Nevermind]

I have had days when scanning ships revealed no data, not even stuff that I couldn’t store before this update so probably just random not on your side.

Ya'll talking about lights; what about the fact that the chair is approximately 300 nautical miles from the ship's console, so the already narrow view is made worse.

I'll take a bright but otherwise mostly avoidable light, over sitting well back from the canopy with a narrow view intentionally made narrower.

on contruction orbitals it gets hung up much of the time on superstructure if i activate autodock at just under 7.5km
landing gear gets stuck on stuff due to the wonky approach patterns

i basically have to fly it in near the assigned pad, then slow down to initiate autodock - maybe 300m

The worst thing for me has been my Commander trying to give himself whiplash whenever I initiate a roll.

I presume the camera handling is the same as for other ships, but just seems odd in the Panther because of the bridge position, or because the camera movement is a function of the ship's width or something. Either way, switching from full roll one way to the other makes it seem like the Commander is trying to wobble his own head off.

I started going 'slowly' into rolls to make the camera movement less jarring, which is silly because it isn't that the ship is moving around that quickly, I'm not piloting it more carefully, just managing the camera.

I noticed this as well. Something is off about the camera tilt when you roll that I haven't encountered on any other ship. The effect is especially bad in supercruise. It's extremely fast and jarring, enough to give me motion sickness.

Made a video of the effect, showing the difference between realspace and supercruise:

Sadly, I have roll bound to Q and E, so I can't "ease into a roll," which makes it even worse. Hopefully Frontier will fix it soon. I can't really tolerate using this ship for very long as-is unless I avoid rolling, which, on a ship this size, isn't very practical.

It's already got an issue tracker report that's gaining quite a bit of traction, and from the contributions, it seems I'm not the only one getting motion sick from it. So it's definitely not just a "me" problem like I initially thought.

Thanks for that video, I finally understand the issue. I've never seen this effect, as in VR the ship NEVER moves relative to the camera, which is attached to my head. I also never get this annoying zooming when accelerating, which personally I find very jarring if I ever sit in my ship in 2D.

It is present on other ships, too, but much, much more subtle. On PCII this effect is turned up to 11—maybe that camera effect feels much exaggerated because the roll rate is so slow.

One peculiarity with PCII is that it's really hard to get off the landing pads of the planetary construction site I'm working at right now. Sometimes I have to pitch down, then pitch up again to get it unstuck; sometimes it gets so well glued to the pad only retracting landing gear while still on the ground helps.

The above Issue Tracker has reached the voting stage.
