Or it cant land or dock and you have to wait for the auxiliary ships to be introduced in 2026 ? And there is only 5 per station 🤷‍♂️.and they can only shift 50 tons an hour each

Looks to be mostly thruster/landing gear. I wouldnt expect internals to allow more than 1000 cargo at the very extreme top end.
Just normal Big Ship territory... a prettier T9/sleeker T10/more industrial Cutter.

The really interesting part of the talk, was the 'bridge' vs cockpit.

I suppose a related question might be to ask how it's going to be limited?

I mean, if it has a bazillion internal slots, there's nothing to stop people filling them with GSRBs, HRPs and MRPs (along with a prismatic shield and a swathe of SBs) to create the ultimate flying anvil.

If it was me, I'd give it a couple of C10 slots and add a 10E Cargo rack (1024t) and then just give it half a dozen "normal" slots (C1-C8) so, even with an 8A prismatic shield, it's not going to be indestructible.

It wouldn't NEED such thrusters and landing gear if it wasn't designed to carry a LOT more than 1k tons. Use your head man.

I know "balance" is the tribal chant to ensure absolute blandness in this MMO game - which is guaranteed to keep gameplay stagnating for the remainder of the game's life.

But...

Why should a behemoth such as the PC be nerfed from day 1?
Why not have 4 off C8 Thrusters
4 off C8 shield generator slots with 12 - 20 Utility mounts
2 -4 C8 PP / Distro
More hardpoints than a stick can be shaken at?

The original PC wasn't limited by blandness, it was a beast designed to survive, and hit back hard...

I know FD will follow the 'rule book' and make the PC absolutely soulless, but it could be so much more. (although I agree that it should just have mainly huge (new size) optionals, and have a supermassive cargo capacity)

Ridiculously overpowered ships have less soul, not more! I've flown them inadvertently in mods of other space games and they're just incredibly meh. Grabbing this insane power budget for themselves doesn't make them feel cool longer than about five minutes, and it also destroys the experience of the entire rest of the ship roster by rendering them unviable.

I think the biggest risk to the ship's "soul" isn't that they give it 20 utility mounts or multiples of core internal types (which they absolutely won't do), it's that they make it a fleet carrier's oversized cargo shuttle – a ship you absolutely never want to make a single jump in, whose only purpose is being a coloniser's ferry.

Going to Stealthie's question about how it should be limited: cargo. Yeah it should have the largest cargo capacity, but not by so much that it's unbalanced to give it some big guns (designed for turrets) and isn't a ship you can enjoy flying. This ship is meant to be the end goal of any trader, their pride and joy.

Re: internal balancing, only shield cell banks and the generator itself make good use of internal sizes above 5, so just focus on sizes 6-8 to mitigate too much stacking toughness (but it should be tough). More important thing is its firepower should be heavily designed for turrets. It can be indestructible, but shouldn't do well with meta weapons.
