Permits

I have done a search before this post, when the system issues a permit is the game telling you something as in you need to visit that system soon* for some reason or t is just due to you meeting a certain level of relationship with a particular faction? And do they expire?

I have 5 now and have not been to any of them- yet.

*Seen a post that said(they thought) in the future that system will have a role in things to come?

Nope, as Para says, no rush, they are simply progress rewards, and there is generally nothing special about the systems.

What you were reading about in regards to 'things to come' are the permit locked sectors, for which there is no way to get the permits.

All of those permits you've listed are the ones you gain automatically upon attainiang a certain Federation Navy rank. Getting them is automatic, and not an indication that you should/ought/must go there now. And no, apart from Sol, none of the Federation Navy-locked systems contain anything particularly remarkable.

There are three systems that are likewise locked to Imperial ranks. And there are a couple dozen other systems where the permit is linked to specific minor faction; you need to gain Allied status with that faction in order to get their permit. Alioth (Alioth Independents) and Sirius (Sirius Corporation) are two such permit-locked systems which do contain useful benefits.

You've also got a couple of "special" permits - Founder's World becomes accessable once you attain at least one Elite rating, and there's another system that requires maxing out at CQC.

Finally, of course, are the unobtainable and "Unknown" permits, whcih you can't get no matter how much you want them. At least, no-one's ever figured out how to get them.

For more info on the various permits, what you need to do to gain the permits, and the benefits of gaining the permits, check out The Permits thread.

On my 1st account I hung out at Mars High as my main station after I got the Sol permit, but then joined a squadron and moved. The worst thing about Mars High was I could never see the landing pad numbers as they blended in with the background (I am color-blind, so that may have something to do with the issue). I was glad to move for that reason alone.

Lots of color blind CMDRs on here. I posted a thread about mining and color blindness just a bit ago, you should pop in if you have any colorblindness related recommendations. :)

You should try those new glasses that fix color blindness. Seen them on youtube.

I have Enchromas, they work so-so. There's a couple different methods of glasses for color blindness, Enchromas work by blocking "confusing" colors entirely, making everything more vivid.

Was watching the vids and thought I would mention them, my brother has that also- not sure which but had problems in the Navy cause of it.

I have been tempted to try them, but I have heard/read mixed results.
