I'm thrilled to finally see water parks incorporated into Planet Coaster, and I'm looking forward to trying it and all the amazing creations I'm sure people are already planning for the Workshop. With that out of the way, I have some specific hopes/questions about Planet Coaster 2 that I hope someone might be able to answer at least partially:

1) Will PC2 support VR? First-person 3D on a monitor is already awesome, but having played Quest 3 via Steam Link I have to say that Planet Coaster couldn't be more perfect to experience in full VR in so many levels and it's a shame it currently isn't compatible. I really, REALLY hope Frontier will seriously consider incorporating VR compatibility into PC2 if they aren't already.

2) Will PC2 incorporate rides, themes, or possibly even Workshop creations from the original Planet Coaster? There is so much awesome stuff I'd love to see carry over.

3) Regarding potential themed DLC, any chance PC2 could finally get the prehistoric theming and animations that PC somehow never did (though I suspect it had to do with the perception of competing with Jurassic World: Evolution)?

4) Will an 11th-gen i9 processor and an RTX 3080 ti with 32 GB of RAM run PC2 comfortably? I spent a fortune on my PC less than 2 years ago and hope it hasn't already been rendered obsolete in terms of playing PC2, because the original PC could definitely be demanding.

Thanks for any insights you can share. Can't wait for this one!

YYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Please make it run well for big parks.

THIS is what I wanted all along. The first game feels incomplete without working water slides, pools, and it's missing some flat rides RCT3 had. I hope they bring back all the rides from PC1 but add more, even in expansion packs. Does fall mean October or November? My concern though is will it require newer Windows versions to run? I only have 8.1 right now but I have a second computer that was my mom's computer as a spare and two monitors on my table. I could install Win 10 or 11 on that because I want to keep 8.1 on my main computer for now. PC1 and Steam still works on 8.1 even though Steam stopped supporting it. I hope the price is reasonable as well. I wish though they would have gone for a more realistic look rather than the cartoon style like PC1 but it probably uses the Zoo engine now. There is no other coaster/amusement park building game out there that is completely free form with working water parks until now with PC2. And there is a water park game coming out next year by a different company but I like PC2 more. I don't want a game with just water parks, I want a game where you can build ride parks, too in the same park and not have a grid restriction like RCT3.

This is why I’ve been dismissing the rumours.

This is why I’ve been ignoring the discussions.

This is why I never believed anything I heard.

Because the payoff here is that what has followed has reduced me, a 26 year old guy often wrestling with his own mental health, to that of an energetic child bouncing up and down in his desk chair because the 9 year old coaster head inside of me is literally screaming with joy right now. 😍😍😍

This is undoubtedly the best surprise I’ve had in a long time. Thank you Frontier for making it happen!! ❤️ I’ll have all eyes and ears on this space.

Seems we now even can connect Theming at some moving parts of flat-rides...

And most importantly: management and heat maps 🥳 planet Coaster was a great Sandbox game but management was weak... Heat maps will allow you to see where trash is collecting and where are the crime hotspots in the park etc.

Together with water parks this will be great...
Hope all the rides of PC1 will be integrated.

Only ONE big thing I am still missing in this announcement: please tell me you have made a better option to SMOOTH coasters... That would be phantastic😉

But overall I can't wait to get my hands on it. ❤️❤️ this announcement made my day

That is an amazing feature. Custom coaster trains out of scenery, custom flatrides. That rlly makes your theming that much better. Especially when the theming moves like the submarine on the teacups from the trailer.

Well...

I do really like what i saw and heard today... but there's one thing I'm fearing...

They mentioned a lot of stuff regarding cross platform sharing features and I really hope this won't mean, that we will have the same piececount limits on PC like PlanCo1 and PlanZoo have on consoles... Keeping all platforms compatible with each other for sharing and co-op building sounds great on the surface, but if it means it will limit the possibilities on the PC Version it could be very frustrating.

I just hope they found a way to make the performance of our PCs the only limit in what we are able to build in quantity of piece and ride count...

I'll look forward to this feature when Planet Zoo releases in 2027!
I do have something of a more serious question though. Will all the content from the first game be present in the sequel?
While there seam to be quite a lot of rides and coasters from the first game and the planet coaster scenery theme is returning, not all rides and scenery from planet coaster 1 seem to be included. Instead the game focuses on bringing back fan favourites, improvements on coaster building and other smaller QOL improvements and adds waterpark features like slides and pools.
