Planet Coaster 2 | Community Questions

Just another note to add, can we get a bigger looking splash on the 4 across water coaster? I ended up hiding a water effect and timed it right underneath the track, also could we get guests passing by reacting to the splash like in Planco 1's log flume?

Hayo Park Managers!

As we head towards launch, we've seen a few more frequently asked questions that we would like to respond to!

Does the guest cap also apply to PC, what affects it and why is it there? If it is on PC as well will it be removed from PC in a future update?

We have set a guest cap of 6000 guests to create the best experience in terms of performance for our players at launch. We will be continuing to analyse and evaluate player hardware feedback regarding this topic post-launch.

Are custom music/sounds/billboards in the game? Will they be added?

Planet Coaster 2 is all about creativity, and we are always considering new ways to bring your theme parks to life. We will be introducing these features in a future update.

Will load/unload stations be added?

Coasters and rides are at the heart of Planet Coaster 2. We will be introducing load/unload stations in a future update.

Will rides with built-in decor have 'vanilla' versions too?

Yes. Creativity is at the core of Planet Coaster 2, and the ability to attach scenery to rides is something which we’re very proud of, allowing Park Managers to create unique rides. We are always considering new ways to expand this creativity, and will continue to introduce further creative options, including additional neutral coaster cars in future updates.

Will Planet Coaster 2 be playable on Steam Deck?

Rich has the answer for you...

I bought the deluxe version for PC only to find out playing that I don’t have access to any of the graphical settings and the game looks pretty bad without all those shadows and details.
So then after I go to buy it on Xbox which the performance is better but now I don’t have access to the bonus rides. so I’ve bought the game twice and still can’t get everything I was paying for.

Not to deny anyone the pre- order bonus but i hope it does remain exclusive for at least a period for us that actually went out and bought "the hog in the bag" unseen and thus ending up with this somewhat disappointing first release already out of pocket, i think something like with PZ:C , exclusive a few months and then about 5usd mark would still make us that went out feel rewarded
Unfortunately, I see this a little differently, the pre-orderers got it exclusively for free, and if I want to pay $10 for it, it's my business. And that's how I see it in other games too, if you want something and are now "punished" by a payment,... then it's that person's own fault.

My point is that as I and many others invested in this before release, at least I appreciate that we get a reward for this that is not only monetarily but also exclusive to us for at least a time , and this is also what a pre order bonus generally entails . Everyone can and may do as they please , but ofc at a later date for new players etc I have nothing against them coming available ,

Why do guests still flail their arms in your faces in seat view? it's been how many years of complaining about this in PlanCo 1 and it's been ignored for PlanCo 2? Why? It's such an EASY thing to fix as well, all you need to do is turn the model of NPCs the camera is clipping into, invisible, simple, so simple.

I will never agree with this because of the fact I never got the pre-order coaster in PlanCo 1 by not preordering. This time I specifically pre-ordered as a result, KNOWING that this is how they handle pre-orders, so no, I don't want you to have it if you pay 10 bucks, cause it would be unfair on everyone based on past experience with PlanCo.

To quote a volunteer moderator right here on the forums when this was asked about Oswald's Magnificent Machine for PlanCo 1: "Pre-orders are a "reward" for pre-ordering, and in any game they've developed those items have never been given out at a later date"

Should not be made available at a later date, some of us preordered based off how they handled the preorder coaster in PlanCo 1. If it gets released at a later date I expect a full refund for the game so I can buy it on sale instead, it's the only reason I realistically paid full price.

Ow was that one never released ? :) i did not know that , i only know they released PZs exclusive animals later, i can understand they want to do that for new players that hadent had the chance, but yea on the other hand would have been fun with something small that remained exclusive there forever

I've actually put in a suggestion in the feedback forum to either NOT release it seperately OR, maybe give us the option to buy Oswald's Magnificent Machine seperately now, I mean it's been EIGHT YEARS, there's no good reason for it to remain restricted if their policy on preorder bonuses has changed. Hell they could put it into Plan Co 2 for everyone as an apology for not being more transparent on the situation tbf.

Is there any plans on bringing the cinematic route editor from Planet Zoo into PlanCo 2? After how long we waited for it to be added to Zoo I was slightly confused it wasnt present in PlanCo 2 as I would love to see it.

I have a few questions for the developers:
1. what is the logic of having waterparks if they can only be used 1/4 of the time because of season temperatures?
2. Why can't we turn off weather and seasons in sandbox mode or at least change the active one? Isn't sandbox mode supposed to be where you can build your park without worrying about normal park mechanics?
3. Why isn't there a switch to change from celcius to fahrenheit?

1. I'm from Northern Germany. Due to climate conditions, our public outdoor pools can also only be used for a quarter of the year (summer). 😜
2. To answer this question, I recommend you to read this >post from Frontier about the upcoming update in December.
3. Good idea. (y)

Well, having your pools only open for summer obviously makes sense, in the real world, but this isn't the real world. It's a game where you can create waterparks, which IS the primary selling point of the new version. And since seasons only last 1 day, that means you have to wait three game days to see your guests doing what the game is supposed to do. That makes no sense to me. I realize now that they are going to fix it, but it should never have been implemented in the first place, without the option to disable seasons and weather.

And the new UI is a disaster, owing to them kowtowing to the console crowd. They should have released a separate console edition and not have hamstrung the PC players.
I would be very interested to see the sales figures for PC players and console players.

And frankly, I'm getting sick of companies releasing half baked games with the intention of fixing the issue in an update or DLC. It's a lousy, lazy, greedy business model and we players need to stop rewarding them for this behavior. Any other business that did this would be hit with major fines and would be out of business in a week.
How long would Ford be in business if its cars' software crashed within a few days of purchase?

This game was the straw that broke the camel's back. I will never pre-order another game until they change this awful business model.

My late wife was a senior executive for a major tech company. Her role was to oversee all software quality assurance for the entire company worldwide. If bugs were found in a piece of software, it was squashed immediately. We have to wait a month for any fixes.

One glaring aspect of this development is that certain influential YouTubers were allowed TWO HOURS to play the game and create a glowing review. How can anyone determine the quality of a game in two hours? With Planet Coaster, we had 6 months to play the various alpha releases and then the beta before release. This game was announced, no alpha was available, and 4 months later it was released. They did not want anyone to play the game before they released it. This indicates to me that they knew it wasn't ready, or that some of the "features" would be criticized.

As I posted elsewhere, that is probably the fault of the "suits" who demanded they release it quickly. That seems to be epidemic in this industry lately. Anytime the marketing department gets involved, you can expect a bad outcome.

By the way, I edited my previous post yesterday about an hour later and removed both numbers 1 and 2 because I saw the update notification. Apparently, it didn't register it. But since there is an option to have km to mph and meters to feet, there should be a switch for celsius to farenheit. We Americans aren't the only ones who use imperial measurement.

Before you go all fanboy on me about his post, keep one thing in mind. I'm 73 years old. I've been playing video and PC games since Pong. I've got well over 1500 games on cd, digital media and 3.5" floppy disks of which I still have a couple of hundred tucked away somewhere (lol). I think I know what constitutes a good game. This one has a lot of great potential, no doubt. But it should not have been released in the condition it is in right now. There are far too many bugs. But in this industry, that seems to be par for the course. We let the developers of games get away with this behavior for far too long. Now they do it with impunity.

That doesn't mean I won't play it. Because I love the franchise, but I'm very disappointed in the game as it stands today. We'll see what the update does.

I can't play the game on Pc and I can't play it on Xbox one. So why should I waste my money buying a new console to play a game that's not compatible and having some minor issues? Frontier, you guys need to need to fix these things pronto.

For whatever reason the Deep Sea Continental ride camera not rotating with the omnimover rotation. The camera rotates on the FD Vision Power Rotating Ride but not on the Deep Sea Continental Powered Automated Vehicle.

Having restriction based on season makes no sense in a video game though, even THEME PARKS close in certain seasons, so should our entire park shut down for a certain period of time each in game year? No, silly argument on the matter.

Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 never had seasonal pools and no one said "man it'd be cool if they made them seasonal"... it was an unnecessary and unwanted addition to PlanCo2

Hello, I'm in the process of making a raft ride and am unable to increase the amount of rafts on the ride to more than 2. I think this has something to do with there being a lift hill that takes the rafts back into the station. is this correct and if so is there any other way to fix this besides taking out the lift hill just before the station? It was a creative decision as I'm modeling the ride after mystic river falls at SDC.
