Planet Coaster Beta Update!

I didn't update the game yet, are the larger park sizes new maps or the existing ones with more buildable area added? So are they equivalent to RCT3's 254 x 254 or larger now? Any more flat rides for Thursday?

Is it possible to get the new rides for our beta parks prior to this update? I have the rapids ride but I don't have the swings or the giga coaster. Everything has been researched.

Thanks again for the increased park size. Just some info for people on the size now. Last time I checked, the park was about 60 acres large, so now, We've got ourselves a nice, open, 150 acre park. [wink]

i think its slightly less big than rct3's 254x254 size

ii think in other threads we concluded that in alpha#3 we had 128x128 size compared to rct3

now it seems we have 170x180 (height*width) or something compared to rct3, correct me if i'm wrong

Yess!!! They finally fixed the ugly blocky path edges not matching the path texture! Paths look so much better now :D

Interesting change of perspective. While everyone is discussing content i just want it to get patched and work again.

Can't be bothered reading through the thread, so is it not possible to get current save games to this new increased park size? [pirate]

Sorry to hear your having issues. I haven't seen any improvement myself, however I also haven't had any negative effects from it. Hope you get it sorted soon.

No afraid not. Tbh I would suggest that things like this are always up for change until it is officially released tbh.

Actually pleasantly surprised with howthe rapids turned out considering how they admitted they didn't spend too much time on them. Could do with a little more splash in the rapids sections though I think.

Amazing how easy and quick it is to sink them into the ground and use the terrain tools around it and create realistic caves and tunnels etc.

Pleased with the performance as well compared to Alpha.

Still think there are tweaks to be made and the UI could be a bit more intuitive alerts about staff being unhappy/broken down rides etc being more obvious (is there an alert noise you can turn on? I always seem to miss alerts when building a coaster).

Game is looking great, this is what I've been waiting for the last 15 years or whatever it is (RCT3 was good but ahead of average computer specs at the time). And to all the people moaning about missing content etc....oh come on, you can see they've put everything into it and content choices have to be made when the bean counters give them a deadline.

AHHHHHHHHHH so excited! I thought the little building in the background in some of the pics was a teaser the park size would be bigger, but still didn't expect it! Such a fan of the RCT games, and zoo tycoon. I've been playing them for 15 years or so... Bye bye life. Hello theme park of my dreams! I already have 400 hrs+ under my belt for the alpha so a little concerned about my sleep and social life! Thanks for the update yesterday, totally unexpected and SUCH a happy surprise :D

thanks Frontier. Best community I have ever known :D #chiefbeefbelief #onemoretower

It's actually about 160 acres now!

Which is almost twice the size of Disneyland. [yesnod]

Building height is the same as before (I checked). 248m tall, and 124m below ground. So in total you could build a 93 story building if you really wanted to. [wacky]

No, it doesn't seem so. Only new parks.

I don't know what unit of measurement you are referring to, or the point of using another game's unit, but the new parks in PC have the following dimensions:

896 metres wide
748 metres long
or about 160 acres

248m high from ground level
124m below ground

Thank you. A little bit of moaning from my side. But now i can feel for all those who experience this with maschines which don't match the specs.

I was only short in, but the new things seem nice. First thing i noticed were the birds.
Suddenly the ballons didn't seem that interesting anymore. The birds are one of my favourit "useless" things in Parkitect.
I am really excited to have a closer look at them.

All great updates, THANKS!
Quick question, not sure if this has been already asked. Does anyone know will there be stand-up coasters added (Togo/B&M)?
