IMPORTANT: Planet Coaster Development Update

" We will also be introducing cosmetic optional purchases for those of you who want to give your parks that little extra personality!" ...

Yeah sure :D This sentence says it all. Now melk the cash-cow. This game is far from beeing anything many people expected. It's lacking everything, it's not finished after release... Its even not a game and more a building tool at all. It's no fun for so many people. Everyone I knew quit the game cause it's bad. And for sure the company's priority now will be: Get more and more money out of it with paid mini-DLC's.
Because some stupid children today will buy into it. I will never.

Now you do it like EA with the Sims... really good idea. Hope every big publisher will sometime regret this strategy.
I played the game not more than 10 hours after release! Never again a game from you.... Its no fun, its not finished. Im done with it since months.

But I feel that I have to thank you for .... nothing. I play the old RCT games, cause those games were pure fun and by far SO MUCH BETTER.

you probably don't have a pc that can run it, thats probably your problem

So does "cosmetic" mean like scenery? avatar items? that's a bit vague. I hope this doesn't cause me to not be able to load certain players parks who might be using content I don't have.

I was asking myself the same thing...

I'm really not into DLC... it can be so expansive if a lot of things (scenery, flat rides, scenarios, etc.) become a DLC. It really depends on the way they implemented it. Let's hope it will not be too much...

Must resist spoliation [mouth shut]

C'mon Sam.

You've already laughed in our faces a few times at the Frontier tour saying you can tell us anything because of the NDA and we can't say a word. So go on.......spill. I know you want too [yesnod][big grin]

in order to bring the free huge updates, they still need to make money. people need to keep in mind, frontier still is a company. they can't produce products without income. no as far as EA goes, they are extremely over priced. frontier has done a great job at hitting the correct price tag.

More rides? More gameplay features? Can't wait (April can't come soon enough, with 4 months or so development on this update it's gonna be a biggie :) !) Hopefully it'll result in that Steam rating heading back in the right direction again and appease those who aren't too happy with the state of the game as it stands. Shame one or two have to try and derail this thread though [rolleyes]

So even if they make thousands of micro DLC's and charge money for them I probably want to buy them all, if quality is good.

But that doesn't answer my question. Will these paid custom content packs include material that can be attached to blueprints and is every player able to download all custom scenery items in the workshop regrding there collection of paid items?

It should be nice to make that clear at least. Why not?

I'm really excited to see what we will get with the April update. I hope for some cool new gameplay features. Maybe weather if it isn't too much to ask for [wink]. I've got to get back to selling those umbrellas. [squeeeeee]

In all seriousness though, I'm really happy that we can look forward to some updates along the way, and new gameplay features in April. I know I will appreciate anything, for I know that Frontier likes to deliver high quality content (that being an opinion of them and also my own at this time).

I'm going to share some brainstorming about the cosmetic optional purchases in a discussion thread here.

So, new owner here just come over from ED, which I've been in for about 20 months now. I'm familiar with the road map there, was wondering if someone here might fill in for me briefly how the development for PC is supposed to continue. Will there be future paid "seasons" like ED? Expansions? DLC's?

That sounds suuper great!

That Dlc structure is perfect! Just cosmetic content has to be charged for!

And did I read, that more that one flatride and coaster will be available with the april update?

And already one this week? [haha] [mouth shut]

Wait. " free food, drink, fun and goodies" at pax? What happened to point 1 and 2 at Gamescom?
At least I got many Chief Beef jelly burgers [tongue]. Can't tell how they taste, though [squeeeeee]. Guess why.

We don't know yet, what was mentioned in the OP was the first and only news we've heard. Time will tell...

I am so excited for the new Flatride this week!!! I did see a lil sneak peek of it in the video from Sam and Bo last week and can't wait to see what it is going to be. Do you know when it will be released this week?

Looking forward to the updates, Thanks again to all the team. As for the DLC, I don't mind, I'll certainly take a look and I'm willing to buy it if it's something I want and it's reasonably priced.

Great to hear about the new stuff, what I'm looking forward to the most is the bug fixes, hoping this also includes tweaks. I've not been playing as much recently, I love the aging system but my rides have been 'old' for far too long, 14 years and still waiting [where is it] The balloon and hat path cloggers were only reduced by me closing the shops and depriving them of their balloon fix. I'm hoping for a couple of tweaks soon to fix gameplay so that I can enjoy the wait for glorious update April. (The addition of goats would make it awesome.)

You guys are the best! I can't wait to know more and I am So excited for the paid content and for any expansion packs in the future! Thank you guys so much!!!!

Small wish: please don't forget fireworks [cool]

I don't get why some people are already up in arms about the upcoming "paid content". I know, making micro-transactions/DLCs/whatever is a bad practice which is an unfortunate trend recently, but Frontier hasn't even done anything of the sort yet (for this game, at least) but we're already trying to judge them. Why don't we save the banter for later when they actually did the deed? I just think it's enough that we have expressed them of our concerns with this type of releases already. It's unfair to the dev team and it ruins the fun and excitement for everyone else. I mean, they're releasing a big free update in April. Let's not get ahead of ourselves in here. Keep the fun rolling [big grin]

The best part of the first post is, that we all got some information about the future of our lovely game. And of course the PAX thingy thing. I already cleared an area in my park for the new scrambler ride (just a guess ;) ) and can´t wait to invite guests to this new and hot attraction. Thank you for the continued, hard work and the announcement of a free, major update in april. I also like that you keep us busy with the information which are coming until April! So it will be not a boring queue time ;) Thank you!

PAX East? YAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! I'm so excited! I'm trying to get tickets as i live10 minutes from the convention center! I hope ill get to see you and Ed!!! :)

Perhaps you missed this thread? Seems like it may be a good fit for someone living as close as you and there's still time to apply. [cool]

Great news and all but I was hoping for some mention of further optimisation.

Maybe they should offer microtransactions in the form of £5.00 per extra FPS.

Joking aside, I doubt they can further optimise the game having read the recent posts from Andy C. I'm about 25% into my third park and am already dipping into the high 20's. God help me when it's nearing completion as it's going to be another beast of a park. I have considered cutting it down but I just can't resist expanding lol.

Great news. Looking forward to the update this week and the April update with new flatrides and roller coasters, I hope there is a Schwarzkopf roller coaster in there. [happy]
