Planet Zoo - 1.0.2 Update Notes

Oops, sorry. I thought that was only for bugs. I'll do so today!!
Oh... I just readed your point and I understand it would be nice if you could mute that sound by choice or even other effect sounds. Right now we can only mute everything, so the sounds animals make would disappear too if we mute it.

I'll vote for it when you put that suggestion down on issue tracker, I'm sure more people can understand that problem you have with it and even have the same problem like you.
I'll take a look on the tracker for it later👍 and support you.

Actually, just throwing my two cents in quickly to say that I'm not a fan of the new changes to African Wild Dogs and breeding.

I used to be able to have two breeding pairs in an enclosure and churn out a good number of offspring for conservation credits at the start of a franchise, as long as I paid attention and moved them out as appropriate when they aged up.I can now have more animals in an enclosure and it will result in less babies? Unfortunate.

ETA: Obviously it's more realistic and I'm all for it, I'll just miss my CCs. :D

Why does it effect CC 🤔 I don't really understand 😅... I just understand it like that: before you could figure out babys aged up because the fighting started and now as this doesn't happen you loose track of it. But we have notofications that tell us a animal got pregnat and a baby will soon age up.
I don't really think there will be less babys because of a bigger group size (THANKS 1000 TIMES!)... you still should have the same amount of babys, you just have to look for other signs 😄 I think.

I'm glad you're still for it too... was weird before because they group up in real life and I like it (didn't play yet again after update, but I will soon - can't wait to enjoy it 😁).

Lots of positives in this update - especially for pack animals. The rocks in habitats thing is going to cause big issues - maybe there needs to be a separation of habitat rocks and decorative 'rocks' that can be used to construct shelters.

Probably the key is to differentiate between rock surface and off-ground rock construction.

Please REMOVE alpha fights from wolves altogether. Wolves DO NOT have alphas, the alpha thing has been DEBUNKED. Sure, keep the """alpha tag""" to mark the main breeding pair within a pack, but they should NEVER fight for it. Real wolf packs in the wild made up properly of family members absolutely DO NOT EVER fight for dominance, that isn't how wolves work.

Please fix this.

What a big patch!!
YESSSS animal bugs and behavior fixes!! Thank you so much, it was well needed! And I love how they stick together in herds now since release, it looked silly having them spread out mindlessly across enclosures in the beta ^^ I'm glad you're making it even stronger!
And FINALLY my wolf pack is no longer a dream <3

Can you look into zoopedia hyena and crocodiles group requirements? I believe they're incorrect, I have dozens of adult crocodiles together who never fight, and two female hyenas always will if put together!

Thank you for increasing the Forage Pool Enrichment Feeder's capacity, that thing is HUGE and held so little fodder!!

Yes. ;)
Fighting for dominance is a thing in captivity.
Pls don't ask constantly in multiple threads for the same features (especially if they are also kind of not accurate in a Zoo...).

thank you 😸

question, could this update cause a problem with bengal tigers fighting due to overpopulation? I moved the grown ups to the trade center ( like I always did) and the parents still fight. I removed the parents and put in a new couple and they also fighting . I never had this problem untill today, it started about 15-20 minutes ago.
I used the heatmap, only 2 tigers in the enclosure and I breed them since the tiger challenge
I had a similar bug with my okapi’s once. They had an offspring (not their first) and I traded the offspring off (as I usually did) but the parents started fighting. I thought maybe it was because you could still see it when you click on he exhibit, so I placed it in another enclosure before putting it back into the trade center. That didn’t work, parents kept fighting. ‘Luckily’ they sere getting quite old so it didn’t take too long before one of them died. Kept their final offspring until the other parent died and then had the young with a new partner put into the enclosure. They didn’t fight though.

Fighting for dominance is only a thing in captivity when the pack is artificially put together by humans and consists of multiple unrelated stranger wolves. a PROPER pack, made up of family, even in captivity, will not fight for dominance. Wolf packs are closely bonded, they are a family- there IS no dominance. "Alphas" do not exist, only the wolves with breeding rights, and the younger members of a pack do not challenge for that as wolves do not naturally inbreed.

My point stands. Wolves in a proper family pack, REGARDLESS of where they are, wild or captivity, WILL NOT fight for 'alpha status'.

Sure, keep it for unrelated wolves thrown together, whatever. But family should not fight eachother, because, again, that isn't how wolves actually work.

And adding onto this, most wolf packs now kept in captivity, in zoos and rescues, or whatever else, are carefully formed properly via introducing a breeding pair and then keeping their offspring around into adulthood. No one just shoves strangers together anymore- SO, THEREFORE, fighting for alpha even in a "zoo setting" is completely inaccurate, as you shouldn't be mixing a bunch of stranger wolves anyway.

I think a lot of people are still waiting to hear what happened with the first community challenge as almost everyone's number of tigers bred was completely wrong to what they actually had bred during the challenge time frame. I would like to know what happened to this and why i managed to breed 78 tigers but only got 46 registered so i missed out on reward for this!

Thanks Chante for the great news. And thanks Team Frontier for all your hard work. There are so many fixes in this update. I'm so happy about the wolf pack issue being addressed.
I'm also really happy about the X toggle being fixed as it was really temperamental for me. And being able to multiselect objects to recolour (like we can in Planco) is a Godsend for me. I only wish I'd waited for this update before I built this puppy (for something I'm working on ;) ) It was a nightmare lol.
Thanks again, all you lovely people at Frontier.

Woah, that looks awesome Nemmie!!! :)

The update has done something to the Animal Trading tab. It's made the Market, Animal Storage and Trade History extremely laggy. You're trying to click on another animal but it takes like 10 seconds for the box to he even be highlighted. Also when I click on, for example, the Market Tab it stays on the Animal Storage Tab. 🙁 Never had this problem until the update.
