Well if it is like in real life, the animal talks should be much more effective than the educational boards, which in rl, not many people actually read.
You have made a great point, this is something that has been changing in the zoo world for quite sometime, 30 to 20 years ago educational exhibit signs in newly designed zoo exhibits would be pretty standard, just an a overall picture of the animals' geographic origin, conservation designation, behavior, diet, etc. In way exactly what we currently find in game within the educational boards. The issue there, as you very well described is that with new generations of visitors , zoos understood that they too needed changed in this area. Animal ambassador educational presentations are certainly one way they have gone about this, but it is not exclusive. Modern zoological exhibits, with substantial budgets have commissioned interpretive educational zoo displays that capture the attention of visitors in many ways. These displays are colorful in nature, vibrant, playful, they engage visitors of all ages, often with sounds, 3d art and exiting facts about the species being exhibited. This is one of the reasons why I have pushed tremendously since day one for the billboards feature coupled with user soundtracks to be included in Planet Zoo. As complex and intricate viewing areas design is virtually non existent as this point in this game. This is somewhat understandable as the tools that players have to work with are quite limited, leaving very little room for the imagination. This a very important area of zoo design, and if handled appropriately it can elevate the exhibit design in this game by a large margin.
