Planet Zoo: Barnyard Animal Pack | Announce

All i can say…beg..please don’t let this be the last pack.

Also..donkey over Shetland Pony?? Madness.
I would honestly have subbed the sheep for the pony....
Farm pack is useful and essential, and the animal - guest interaction is really good. I think the main problem is animal chocie. if rabbit and duck are included in this pack, the dlc will be much better.
Maybe I'm the only one, but I'm glad there isn't a rabbit.

Not my Kind of Pack as I did not need Farm animals for the game. But I cannot really understand why such an amount people (and my Feeling was that a lot of people wanted a Farm Pack) now are disappointed to get a goat, a donkey, a a pig and a sheep alongside a chicken and the high on the wishlist placed alpaca and the Highland Cow within this Pack.

Nevertheless this does not look like the Last Pack to me. And thats why it is to early to complain about that "fact".

I feel like people are discounting the fact that this is a net-new experience. PC did not have any dlc after it was ported to console, JWE(2) have always been console games. I don't really see an indication this will be the final content for PZ. Frontier have added to their revenue stream with the console audience, through the Season-pass and DLC packaging. I'm willing to bet they're seeing success with that. If they can keep making dlc that people buy for PC AND consoles, they absolutely will continue to do so.

As far as my thoughts on the animals, I’m pretty happy with the picks, only cause I love donkeys in general. Pig, Sheep and Cattle are all good, would’ve like the Watusi cattle but I understand cause we probably can’t have 2 Buffalo in the same pack. Goat should’ve been African dwarf but whatever. And the chicken I actually like, I always like a bird that’s different from what we have.

The Alpaca should’ve been the one to go though. A duck, rabbit, or a Guinea pig all should’ve been put in instead of this one.

We're getting giant crayons!?!?

No, the Alpaca is clearly the best pick for people which are not so much a Fan of a Farm themed Pack.

A scenario in the NZ countryside and no Kunekune lmao what.

Ah well. Not the optimal scenario but still a great one! Sucks that South America will still be lacking, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t like this. Not a fan of how Eurocentric the choices are though, especially considering how many great domestics Africa has.

Happy we’re getting a chicken though :3

Given the opportunity I'd definitely swap one of the alpaca or sheep for a duck, but my real issue is still with the breed picks. The sheep and goat are not popular petting zoo picks at all and have no utility to non-Europeans. The pack in general is disproportionately British outside of the alpaca and donkey.

I really hope it's not the last one, but I'm ok with a domestic DLC, especially since it appears they've added animal-guest interactions, which is really exciting! The strangest decision in my eyes is the alpine goat instead of the African dwarf one everyone was talking about, but I'm not personally too invested in that. I am thrilled about the highland cows! It seems like we're getting scenery instead of an exhibit animal, which is great in this case. Hopefully, we'll get more backstage props. I love the stone wall. Is it new?

What we're getting:

Looking at them, I'm actually pretty excited. I hope they have cream and black morphs for the cattle. Domestics weren't at the top of my list, but I'm happy to see them.

Wild counterparts of what I'd still like to see:

Ducks, turkeys, guineafowl, and rabbits would have been awesome, but the wild counterparts look almost identical to domestics. I don't think any of the animals included in this pack would have fit into a pack with wild animals. If we get more packs, these guys will fit right into barnyard sections.

Pros:
  • Barnyard pack theme, I'm here for it
  • Highland cooooo
  • Chickens!
  • Straw bales (I like hay okay)
  • Love the sound of the free update - animal encounters. Can't wait to know more.
  • the animal choices are very farmy, good for more realistic players who don't want guests to have hands-on contact with wilder variants of the species

Cons:
  • no bunnies
  • no kid's playground
  • no shetland pony
  • the chicks are not yellow :(
  • first time I've leaned more towards 'meh' than 'yeh' with a pack. Weird feeling

Hopes and dreams:
  • the 'animal encounters' include animal feed
  • the highland cow is as gorgeous as I am imagining it to be
  • that this is not the end
